Kitty and I make an interesting pair'
... says actor Priya Mani about her film, KoKo Koli Kothi, with the actor

Back from a 10-day invigorating holiday Down Under, Priya Mani has thrown herself right back into work. The actor has been busy shooting for director Suri's Anna Bond with Puneeth Rajkumar. And she's been so tied up that she hasn't even been able to celebrate the success of her last Kannada release, Vishnuvardhana. "The producer called me twice to ask me to attend parties he hosted to celebrate the success, but I was shooting for Anna Bond," says Priya.
But while 2011 ended well for the actor, her first release of 2012, the Telugu film Kshetram, has not had a good outing. "Critics have panned the film, but I've been getting appreciative calls and messages for my work in it. The problem with most films is that what you are told during the script narration is not what is presented on screen. I can't be blamed if a film doesn't do well, because many times the end product is not what you had envisioned," she maintains. But that is a line most actors spout. Doesn't she have a say in the work she does? "During shooting, I may be able to ask the director to change a dialogue or a scene. But what happens on the editing table is not under my control," adds Priya.
Not one to be bogged down by the failure of one film, Priya is excited about her first Kannada release for the year, KoKo Koli Kothi, in which she is paired with Kitty. "This is a film that everyone will like. Kitty and I make an interesting pair. But what audiences should also look out for is the relationship between my character and that of her brother, played by Telugu actor Srihari, who is making his Sandalwood debut," she says. KoKo, meanwhile, releases along with a Ramya-Yogi starrer. Is Priya worried about the competition? "This year is going to be a year of good cinema in Sandalwood. And all I can say is that I hope Ramya's film does well too," says Priya.

GREAT EXPECTATIONS
"I make one film a year and my previous three films have been in diverse genres. My first two films, Taj Mahal and Prem Kahani, were love stories, with the latter having a lot of drama as well. My third, Mylaari, was an action film. With KoKo Koli Kothi, I'm taking on the entertainment genre. This film has a lot of drama, comedy, action and, of course, romance in it. I've striven to give Kitty an action hero image with this film. With a monkey and a rooster being central to the storyline and an ensemble cast including Anu Prabhakar, Harshika Ponacha, Sanjjanaa and Sri Hari, I am hoping to present a family entertainer." — R Chandru, director
