I get to watch some glimpse of this show here and there and Im here commenting because recently I watcheda promo and saw M's mom scolding S. For once I taught she was completely right. Forget about rich mom, any mom would not want her daughter to marry an uneducated, jobless man. Well people says it's heart which matters but S is not a great man either.

And secondly I saw some here commenting saying that S's sis is married into a bad family with a bad MIL...But Ithink she is married to a
jerk husband who cant keep his promise and always been livingwith a jerk brother who lied that he can arrange for money (thus encouraging dowry)

To hook audience you need strong characterisation, it can be grey butit should have strong characters...I have come out from SM2 mode already and when I tried giving the show a chance, it doesnt live up to expectation...

A love story will work only if the audience root for the couple...this is where SM is lacking...not many are rooting for SM and to my surprise I saw some audience wants S to be paired with another girl ( I think his murai ponnu)

Next Lakshmi first should guide M from falling unemployed rather less than their status guy rather than doing double act..

And Saravanan should do some work.. Just going behind a girl and boozing at night not a manly thing..

Hope the director gives something new rather than same old Saravanan who I saw before..

The director still dont understand that SM was a huge success not only because of senthil and sreeja... their characters where so good. Saravanan was working at Mirchi and meenakshi was a school teacher. Loved developed naturally between them...


Just selecting good looking actress and popular actors in the show will not success the story...

True.. SM was such a huge hit at that time, popular all over.. There was a magic in Senthil - Sreeja pair.. but now I'm not interested in watching their new show 'Mappillai'.. I don't have that craze now..

I've said this before, but the chemistry is more natural between Saravanan and Muthazhagu. It also feels like he is more honest with her, than with Meenatchi (who he has essentially been duping or has been duped by during the entire course of the show). Muthazhagu also comes off as being sympathetic despite being a villain. In fact, her one-side love portions stand out more than either of Saravanan or Meenatchi's scenes together.

It also helps that she is a more fleshed out character than Meenatchi (who the director keeps alternating between smart, petty and arrogant or loving but totally braindead).

(But I'm mostly rooting for Saravanan and Muthazhagu because both the so-called Saravanan-Meenatchi "romance" scenes and Meenatchi's family are very annoying to sit through...there is just too much dishonesty involved.)

Yes there is no craze for the comeback of our favorite Jodi... But I watched the episodes, again they selected more good looking actors for that serial as well and intro for all the characters are good. But the success of the serial will depends on the story and director... Lets see.

VIJAY TV and serial directors should understand, even the current leading stars from the Tamil cinema acts in the serial...the Serial will not success Without good story and good screenplay...
