Someone posted on the forum that he is not writing for SC anymore. There is a new writer now but as I wrote in my previous post, Mr H did irreversible damage and tainted too many things.
Lets see what the new writer does, hopefully will write more sensible and logical tracks and not further butcher the characters.

I remember back in the day, CBians casually discussing and wondering how Desais worship the ground Kumud walks on, finding it a bit extreme even unrealistic. I believe we also commented on the strong values and sense of ethics ingrained in the girls due to which Kusum and Kumari were not insecure or jealous of the love and attention Kumud received from the family and looked up to her as their ideal.

That was way back in the day... before daily wage writers came in to do a few episodes at a time and then finally my favorite writer took over.

Prior to that, there were several signs in the show which led most of the forum to look forward to a Danny - Kumari track and for Kusum to hook up with Sunny. Just IMHO.

So yeah, as you mentioned, anything was possible in the hands of the esteemed writer.

Edit - @ blue - I would say I am not surprised and it was not completely unexpected either. He does like to mess with family dynamics and bring in unsavory complications in relationships. That would be why Kusum fell in 'divine' meera type love for Saras and Danny suddenly fell for Kusum and Saras hid Kusum's feelings for him from Danny and Desais lost their brain and spine and... oh I could go on and on ... you know that... there are some things I can only mention offline😆

Sorry to interject Arshi...

I had classified Kusum as Evil when she had just started moving on the path and was (am??) expecting much worse...The TRP boost is just to good to let go off...I was anticpating that she will at least be made to get engaged to saras...Lucky that did not happen due to the clever Danny - Kusum marriage...

However I read somewhere on IF that each time the show has tried to bring Saras - Kumud together the TRPs have actually gone down...and TRPs have gone up only when they get separated...so there's a large perverted and frustated viewer mob out there who likes this crap and who get their kicks from a vicarious pleasure of seeing two beautiful people suffering and getting shafted by their own relatives...

...So I believe there is still a lot of juice left in this track and there is no kusum redemption yet...at least there's a brake in place (hopefully) to the descent of her character...coz they need to equalize Danny - Kusum relationship...but when will they do it...no idea...

Neways enough of crap on the first day of the new year...
