You brought up the concept of Meera. And rightly so.
Here is what I wrote on CB.
Today you had to feel for Kumud. The way she is stuck. Piss rahi hai Kusum aur baki sab ke beech. But the way she goes about handling this is debatable. More below.
People talk about allegiance to characters. Well, I like both Saras n Kumud. Definitely like Saras more. But, in this show characters dont just make mistakes but take U-turns.
Saras's words about Pramad were drowned in the 'bigger picture' of Kusum's love for Saras. On an other day, these words would have been so important. She says there is no rishta between them. But wants him to live. Kumud ka Kachdaa Saras ke sar par. Kab tak? He even tries for a liver transplant. And knows Pramad's intentions.
Funny how Desais attach so much importance to themselves. They treated Danny like crap all these months. He was running around pillar to post to solve their problems that would never run out. Saras has many levels of relationship with Desais. But Danny stayed there like a servant just because Saras told him to. And today they are courteous to Saras but dont even bother to say sorry to Danny for the 'galat fami'. The sanskaars of VC and co are great.
Guniyal scuttled Kusum and Kumud. She was totally wrong in forcing Kusum into this. Because family pride is at stake(again) and because the rishta came from Chandrika Kaki's side. The list can go on. Forcing Kusum into a love-less marriage after her suicide attempt is a master-stroke she thinks? The girl needs some time and space and counselling to get out of this. Not the pressure of a marriage and the new life it brings with it. Very disappointing.
And the precap... She insults his love and hers. Few minutes back she said(in today's epi) she said she is living for him and only on his support. Few minutes later she says its all pre-destined. That Saras and Kusum bump into each other. REally? We all thought Kumud and Saras bumped into each other all the time. We thought and they thought destiny brought them together all the time. Its not only wrong on Kumud's part but also poor writing by writers where she contradicts her own words in a matter of minutes.
She didnt say the 'M' word yet to Saras so I am not jumping on it.
I dont mind what she thinks because her family is so important to her. But I would say her character fell few notches because she thinks Kusum felt she was Meera because she thought of Saras as Krishna. Well she is paraphrasing what Kusum thinks. Giving a stamp of approval. Either way, bringing Meera ji into this is sacrilege.
Meerabai loved Krishna as her everything. In devotion, God is the Purusha/masculine. All his lovers/devotees are 'Stree'/feminine. Irrespective of whether they are men or women. Meera ji felt she got her Krishna. Because her love was not the mundane love. She didnt end her life to get Krishna. She just wanted to revel in that 'bhaav'. We all know it and I dont have to re-iterate. But if writers care to read this thread,this message is for them. Meera ji deserves to be treated with respect.
