>>> not a problem.
I've seen a lot of eavesdropping in Hindi serials, but for some reason, Saras popping up doesn't surprise me nor disgust me like it does usually when I see it on screen... And when I tried to put two and two together, this is what I came up with:
1) in the jheel where his mum committed suicide, Saras promised he'd do everything he could to get Prammy and Kummy together... He's only fulfilling his promise by keeping an eye out on everyone... because after all, Kumu-Prammy are smack in the middle of the family... Whatever's happening in their relationship after coming back from the Desai house has affected the entire family.
>>>> even before the Jheel incident, Saras has been looking into Kumud's well being and there have been shots of Saras that cannot be appreciated. He is the lead if our show and every aspect of Saras is important to us. He acts so well, but I do not want the directors to kill his fab oerformance by depicting him like Guman who was the vamp. If there are quite a few of us who think there is a problem, then the makers need to look into it. If he is looking into the well being of the family, they should find other ways to show that rather than evesdropping etc.
2) He told Buddhidhan himself about how much this family means to his "orphaned" self, which is why he's doing all he can to help. By the looks of it, he does seem like an, as someone mentioned, "self-appointed bodyguard," which is annoyingly noble and self-sacrificing, but because Saras/Navin is so important to the family's wellbeing now, it seems fit that he's poking his nose everywhere.
>>>> yes, I did mention, it will be great if BD appoints him as Kumud's bodyguard apart from being the political advisor of his party. By doing so, atleast there is a reason for him to be around Kumud and care for her well being. If you think its Ok for him to be everywhere, then its the depiction to the viewer that is important. The director and the story writers are not doing a good job, if the viewers are depicting certain flaws.
3) All in all, I think Saras/Navin's behaviour serves a literary purpose. Perhaps he's a motif... A symbol of "guardian angel" or "protection." And his peeping in the rasoyi vs his peeping in SB Devi and BD's conversation today proved that, I think. Because on one hand, he had eavesdropped into a conversation that tackled the core grief of the family... And on the other hand, he peeped in a conversation of absolute gossip and fun... two contrasting moods, both with him looking into each scene and reminiscing... I guess he really does serve the purpose of a protector 😆
>>> again, I say directors and story writers are not conveying and showing this role in a correct manner to the viewers.
I also looked into the colour orange's symbolism. From what I know, orange as a colour symbolizes creativity and new ideas. I'm not surprised he wore the colour of new ideas while giving BD a new, creative idea himself. My musing could be clearly coincidential, but I'm inclined to go with it's not, because they're still dropping a lot of literary hints here and there in the show 😃
As for the shiny mirror wala orange joda... my guess is Orange is used for the same purpose, but I don't know why he looks like Sallu Bhai (must be SLB's choice...) But, yes, he does look like a ladoo 🤣
