From the written update looks like a fab episode.. I am happy the CVs are doing a good job of maintaining consistency with the characters, especially Kumud. She is a very strong character in the soap and in the novel as well. The reason she is relieved today and ready to move on with Pramad is because her questions are answered. It is her ego which wanted answers - How dare Saras throws me out of his life and that too for a second time over a phone call !! Remember, the first time Saras said no to her, she made him come all the way from Dubai and confess to her parents. And she kept asking - How can he say no to me ? So it is all repeating again.. And if Pramad was a good character the story would have closed now with Kumud dumping Saras forever and moving on with her husband. Saras in all probability would just be a memory, a nice one of course.
Now to the difficult part -- It was her ego and her family's prestige at stake for which she made a decision out of haste to marry Pramad.. She also proved that she will not be an abandoned one. But With Pramad being a spoilt brat how will she manage ? Being a practical and matured woman who values relationships she will want to stay away from Saras. She has to stand by her decision and do whatever it takes - hide her agony and pain. But end-of-day she is helpless. And with the soft and caring Saras around ready to die for her, it is making things even harder.. It will be interesting to see how the CVs script the upcoming episodes.
Just one point before I close.. If this is close to the original novel, I really appreciate the way Kumud is portrayed by the original author.. as a lady of strength, dignity and I look at her ego as empowerment. And that too in a novel of the late 1800s.
Will go and watch the episode tonight..
