After meeting Saras, Kumud gets completely shattered as she now has to live with the man who neither respects her nor loves her when the love of her life, her soul mate is right in front of her. On the other side, Saras is in extreme pain seeing Kumud being so close to him but yet so far away!
Saras decides to forget his past for the sake of Kumud as he sees the same pain in her eyes that he feels. He thinks that if he stays around her any more than he has to she will break badly. He tells himself that he has given her immense pain already and cannot hurt her anymore as he will not be able to breathe if Kumud falls apart. Hence, he starts paying more and more attention to his work. Meanwhile, Kumud lets herself immersed in the household chores and in taking care of her little Dever and the rest of the family to stop herself from crossing any boundaries! Life goes on for both Saras and Kumud...
After a few days, Alak has to go to Ratnagiri for a meeting. Her father suggests taking Saras with her for the meeting and she also thinks it is a good idea. Hearing this, Pramad's mother says that Kumud should also go with them to her Parent's house as she must be missing them. They all agree and decide to leave in the morning. Alak tells Saras about the plan but forgets to mention about Kumud coming along. Pramad's mother also tells Kumud about the plan but doesn't say anything about Saras going with them.
In the morning, Saras, Kumud, and Alak get ready to leave for Ratnagiri. Kumud is a bit happy about going to her home but is also worried as to what she will tell them when they ask about her married life. They all come to the living room. Kumud's mother-in-law gives her a basket full of sweets and presents for everyone at her house. She argues that there is no need but her mother-in-law doesn't listen. Her little Dever comes to her and asks her to come back fast and she says she will and they get busy in some small talk. Meanwhile, Saras comes there and Alak asks if he is ready to go and he says yes. Kumud hears this and is shocked to know that Saras is going with them. Kumud inquires about the same and her mother-in-law says she forgot to mention that the previous night. Saras is also surprised to know that Kumud is going with them. They try to make an excuse but their efforts go in vein. They all get in the car and leave.
There is an awkward silence in the car. Alak, being unaware about this, starts talking to Saras about the meeting. Kumud just looks outside. After a few minutes, Alak gets a call from someone. She is informed about some urgent issue in her father's office and has to go back. Alak asks the driver to stop the car and informs Saras and Kumud about the situation. They are shocked! Saras suggests that they should all go back but Alak says the meeting is important and must not be missed. Saras understands. Kumud says she will go back with her but Alak refuses her also saying that her family will be waiting. She says that she has already called a car for herself and she will wait there with the driver until the car comes but Kumud and Saras needs to leave as the meeting must not be missed. They both get worried but can't find a way out of the situation. Saras gets into the driver's seat and seeing Kumud in the back seat Alak asks her to sit in the front with Saras. Kumud does so with hesitation. They leave for Ratnagiri.
There is a pin drop silence in the car. This continues for a while. Kumud puts her hand near the gear shift for support. At the same time, Saras reaches the gear and their hands touch! They both look at each other and get lost. After a few seconds they hear someone blowing the horn. They look up and there is a truck coming right at them. Kumud shouts "Saras"! Saras tries to control the car and turns it away from the truck but the car hits a big tree! They feel a minor shock but they are okay. They come out of the car and see the front of the car completely destroyed...
They both get really worried as the car is not starting, they are getting late, and to top it all, it starts raining. They both sit in the care to stay dry. Saras tries calling Alak but it's coming busy. He also tries calling home but no one answers. Kumud says that there is a bus-stop nearby. They can walk there and ask for some help. Saras doesn't agree as it's raining outside and they will get wet. Kumud argues that they have to do something. They can't just sit there waiting for someone to come. Saras asks her to wait a little longer for the rain to slowdown. She agrees.
Rain stops in a while and they take their stuff and start walking. Kumud looks at him walking ahead of her and wants to ask him so many questions but doesn't know how. Saras tries to stay as far as possible to avoid any interaction as he wouldn't be able to answer her if she starts asking questions. They keep walking like this for a while. Kumud keeps fighting her urge to talk to him but she can't any longer. She finally breaks her silence... She says, "Why did you do this? You asked my hand in marriage in front of everyone and then left me stranded in the middle of nowhere! Why? Why did you break my trust? Why did you insult me and my family like this? Answer me! Where were you when I needed you the most?" All this time Saras is standing where he was; his back turned on Kumud! She sees this and goes in front of him. She grabs him by his collar and says, "Why are you quite? You said a lot of things on the phone that day! Why this silence now? You have to answer me today. What did I ever do to you to deserve this pain? Why Saras? Why did you do this to me?" And she breaks down... She starts crying! The first time during this confrontation, Saras looks at her, sees her crying, and takes her into his arms... He hugs her tight, closes his eyes, and hides himself in her arms! She lets herself immersed in him as if they were never apart! They feel eachother and cry till their hearts content! Kumud gently opens her eyes! She has satisfaction on her face! She looks on and sees the gift basket that her mother-in-law gave her. Suddenly she realizes that she is not his Kumud anymore... she is someone's wife, someone's daughter-in-law...
She comes to her senses and pushes Saras away! Saras, who finds comfort within her, gets shocked with this sudden change and realizes what just happened. He looks at her, her Mangalsutra, her Sindoor... he realizes that she is not his anymore! His eyes gets filled with pain, he turns around, and looks the other way! Kumud witnesses this and goes to him. She looks at his face and sees the pain. She says, "You didn't answer me. Why did you do this? What just happened proves that you still love me as much as you used to. Then why did you refuse for the marriage? Nandu kaka said you left the house. Why? How did you come to my in-laws house? Why did you say your name is Navinchandra? As much as I know you, I know you would never separate yourself from your mother! Then why did you separate her name from yours? Say something. You can't keep quite like this. You have to answer me!" Saras doesn't say a word! He looks the other way and sees a car coming. He goes a bit towards the road and stops the car. He asks for a ride to Ratnagiri and the man says ok. Saras puts the entire luggage in the car and asks Kumud to sit inside. Kumud gets upset by his behavior and sits in the car. He sits in the front and they resume their journey to Ratnagiri!

In Ratnagiri, everyone is happy about Kumud coming home. But they are also worried for Saras. Sunny and Vidyachatur are trying their level best to locate Saras. Badi Ma is happy for Kumud's return but is also afraid about the truth coming out in front of her. Kumari and Kusum are desperate to tell Kumud what happened. The atmosphere of the entire house is much tensed.
Kumud and Saras reach Ratnagiri. They get off the car, take their luggage, and thank the man for the ride. Saras tells Kumud that he will pick her up on his way back from this place. Kumud gets angry knowing that he doesn't even want to meet his Mai and come home. She says okay and they part ways. Kumud reaches home in few minutes. Everyone is happy to see her. Guniyal runs to her and hugs her. Badi Ma comes and hugs her, too. She also kisses her forehead. She takes blessing from her aunt and hugs her brother. Kumari and Kusum run to her and the three sisters hug tightly. During the hug Kumari and Kusum look at each other. They separate and Kumud asks about her Bapu. Guniyal is about to say something when he enters. Kumud sees him and runs to him. The father-daughter hug for a while. Suddenly Kumud sees Sunny and is surprised. She separates from her Bapu and says, "Sunny? What are you doing here?" Sunny doesn't say anything. Everyone looks worried. Kumud sees this and realizes that this silence must be about Saras. She tells herself that Sunny must know what happened to Saras. She looks at Sunny and without saying anything else goes inside. Everyone is surprised to see this but no one says anything as they don't want Kumud to find out anything. Kumari, Kusum, and Sunny get all the more eager to tell her the truth but Dugba's one look and they keep quiet.
On the other side, Saras reaches the meeting a bit late but tells them that he met with an accident on his way and they all understand. He conducts the meeting just fine. Everyone is impressed with him. After the meeting ends, he calls Alak and tells her what happened. Hearing this Alak gets worried and asks him if they both are fine and Saras says yes. Alak says she will call Kumud's house to talk to her. They hang up and Saras gets back to his work.
Kumud, in her room, is thinking about what happened and how to use this situation to make Saras confess the truth. Badi Ma comes and asks her how she is, how she likes her new home, how is everyone there, etc. She says everything is fine and everyone is good to her. Then she thinks of Pramad and Saras and quickly washed off her pain. Badi Ma leaves telling her to rest. Kumud gets out of her room and goes to the terrace. Her walk to the terrace reminds her of the moments she spent in this house with Saras. She takes a vow to make Saras spill out the truth before they go home today. She reaches terrace and sees Kumari and Kusum thinking something deep. She goes to them and asks them what's going on. They hesitate a bit. Just then Sunny comes there and seeing Kumud realizes that he can't talk to Kumari or Kusum about Saras and decides to leave. But Kumud says, "I know you are here because of Saras!" All three of them get shocked. Sunny can't stop himself and says,"Kumud you don't know that Saras is'" and Kumud completes his sentence saying, "...here. I know." Sunny says, "No. He is not. He left to come here, to meet you. But he didn't get here. I've been trying to find him but'" and Kumud says," There is no need to find him." Kumari says," Didi, I know you are angry with him but just listen to what Sunny has to say." Kumud says, "All I want to listen is what Saras has to say." Sunny says, "But he is'" and Kumud cuts him in the middle and says, "'is here. He will come here tonight and tell everyone why he did all this to me and my family." Three of them are shocked seeing Kumud aware of the situation. They agree to help her. They make a plan and leave. Kumud gets busy spending time with her family.
In the evening, Saras is waiting for Kumud at the place where he left her. Alak sends them another car with a driver. He is wondering why she is late and just then sees Kusum buying some medicine from a store. He turns around and hides his face in one of his files. He hears Kusum telling the vendor to give the medicines urgently as Badi Ma is really sick. Saras gets worried about his Mai. Kumari and Sunny, who are hiding behind a truck, witness this and smile at each other. Kusum runs back home and Kumari and Sunny also leave.
Kusum, Kumari, and Sunny reach home and at the same time Kumud, Badi ma, and Guniyal come out of the kitchen. Kumud looks at them and they smirk at Kumud. Kumud smiles back. Badi Ma sits on the sofa and starts messaging her legs as her legs are hurting and closes her eyes. Vidyachatur comes there and asks Dugba if she is okay. Just then Saras comes and shouts "Mai!" Everyone's shocked to see him except Sunny, Kumud, Kusum, and Kumari. He runs to his Mai, sits near her feet and asks what happened. He is so worried about her that he just keeps asking what happened and if she is okay. He says, "Mai, please don't leave me like Ma did!" He looks at Vidyachatur and asks him to take her to the hospital immediately. They don't understand what's happening. He is getting frantic by the second. Seeing this, Dugba just cups his face and remembers his condition when Kumud had sent him to the river where his mother died. She can't see her Saras like that and just hugs him. Saras also hugs his Mai and starts crying. Dugba says, "I am fine. I'm never going to leave you. " And kisses his forehead. Saras looks up and sees everyone. He looks at Kusum and she says, "I was lying." Saras gets angry and says, "How can you lie about something like this? Why did you do that?" Kumud interfers and says, "She did it because I told her to." Saras is shocked to hear that. He sees Sunny there and realizes that Sunny must have told them everything. Sunny hugs him and asks him, "Where were you? Why was your phone unreachable? I was so worried about you. When I came here, I came to know that you never got here. Where did you go?" Saras is silent. Kumud says, "Tell them. Tell all of them where you have been all this time. Because if you won't, I will." She looks to her family and says, "Bapu, Badi Ma, Ma, meet Mr. Navinchandra. He lives at my in-laws house. He works for my father-in-law." Everyone is shell shocked hearing all this. Badi Ma looks at him and says, "Why did you do this Saras? Tell me. Will you hide the truth from your Mai, too? I promised your mother that I will look after you, that I will take care of you. So for your mother's sake, for Saraswati's sake please tell me the truth!" Saras looks at her and breaks down. He collapses on the floor and starts crying. He tells everyone what happened in Dubai, how his father disowned him, how he slapped him, how he left his house, how he came here, and why he couldn't reach the wedding on time. Everyone is shocked to know the truth. Kumud gets shattered hearing the truth. He gets up and apologizes to his Mai, Vidya kaka, and everyone in the family. And starts crying again. Dugba goes to him and takes him in her arms. Vidyachatur also puts his hand on his head and asks, "Why didn't you come here in the first place? I would have talked to Laxmi-Nandan! Are we not your family?" Saras hugs him and says, "Everything happened so fast that I just couldn't bear it! My life shattered in that one moment." Dugba says, "And all this happened because of that Ghuman. She first took away Saraswati's happiness and as if she wasn't satisfied with that she ruined your life. And in all this she took away my Kumud's happiness!" Saras and Kumud look at each other. Kumud is broken into million pieces. She wants to run to him and hug him. He joins his hands and apologizes to her from the bottom of his heart. He also thanks her for making him realize that he is not alone and has his family with him. She just stands there with tears in her eyes. They walk towards eachother and suddenly Saras stops. He sees Kumud as someone's wife and stops himself from crossing any line for the second time. Kumud realizes the same also. He turns to Vidyachatur, wipes his tears, and says, "We must go. Kumud's family will be waiting." Dugba is proud of Saras and Kumud as they have the courage to accept their fate. She puts her hand on Saras's head and goes to Kumud and hugs her. They get ready to leave.
Kumud hugs everyone. Saras thanks Sunny for watching his back and asks him to go back. Sunny says, "You are my only family, my brother. I will never leave you. I'll join Vidya kaka's factory and help him out until I can find a new job." And to lighten the mood he says, "And until I find a place to stay I'll live here and take advantage of their mehmaan-nawazi!" Everyone laughs a bit. They all bid farewell to Saras and Kumud as they head back home.
