So Saras breaks all the ties with his father because he thinks he murdered his mum.. Understood this bit... but urrmmm why isn't he marrying Kumud? Can someone please explain...

I honestly don't see a reason, so he doesn't have money and a family name? Can't he built his life all over again?

As far as the emotional damage goes... I thought accepting his love for Kumud and agreeing to get married was a proof that he moved passed the fear of relationships... his father was never there... he knew that then and he still knows it... so what changed? Just because he came to know that his father cheated on his maa, he is calling off the wedding? What the hell does this even mean...?

i dont know either, but to me it looks like saras is a sadist escapist!

he had made alot of progress to get over his mum's death, i agree he is shattered to know his dad cheated on his mum, but to my mind saras is an adult who shld have that much maturity to not associate this all to kumud!

ultimately saras to me is a very weak cowardly man... he is using his mum's tradegy to not commit to marriage n family life, that is what an escapist does they make excuses n run!

He's mentally scarred I guess and has become vulnerable and insecure again. Its his flaw but thats his character...

Kumud had to marry Pramad somehow. They've kept it very close to the novel.

Yaar but isn't hard to accept it? It makes no sense... 😕

What exactly is he scared of? That he might hurt Kumud? Honestly, I thought its been done with... they talked, Saras explained his fears, Kumud reassured him, everything was done so whats new now?

I think when you're in an irrational state of mind, nothing make sense and nor do you want to listen to anyone else. He doesn't feel like he's emotionally stable to take someone else's responsibility and you know what? I agree. If he's reacting like that he shouldn't marry at all. Maybe if Kumud was there with him she would've got him out of it.

He is an escapist yes. There is no doubt about that. He had not faced his pain head on until Kumud made him... he had everything bottled up, and when Kumud came in, all that was sorted.. or so it looked like...

I don't understand his reasons... its pissing me off! It takes a lot of courage to walk away from your love, but it takes even more courage to stand the ground and face the problems.
