I guess she is battening with her conscience. We have to understand that Kumud is a very strong and traditional girl! In such cases her having regret RE her intimacy with Saras is natural!

She also may feel she betrayed the trust placed on her by her parents! After all, they don't restrict her like some traditional parents do! So they may feel pretty let down by all this!
