Kumud is finished with college (they said in an earlier episode how she was not only educated but also a teacher and awesome at everything else, lol). I'm guessing VC and Guniyal might have given Kumud to Dukhba (Dugba?) because of the loneliness/pain she felt after Saras left for Dubai with LN... since Dukhba was obviously very attached to Saras after his mother's death. So she might be 5-6 years younger than him (assuming Saras was around 5-6 when his mother died).
