I am back with my weekly review thanks to popular demand! Yesterday, I watched the whole week's episodes again even though I watched each numerous times on the day of! God, the sacrifices I make for you guys 😒 😆

So much happened that it is hard to review everything, so I will do random scenes. But one thing has been consistent throughout the week - Saras kitna saras chhe! I am having alabaster thoughts! That skin! Flawless even on HD. Pure alabaster. All the girls here have been envying his skin all week. 😆 I refer back to Saras' artistic look post, "Who's the purdy one?" Look there for a little ode to Saras' beauty. Also, if you want to learn Gujrati, there's a training thread well on its way. 😃 Clearly, this show has won me over.

Episode 6 Monday -

Kumud calls Saras selfish because he did not give in to make her dad happy. Her one-track mind and her innocence is apparent. She thinks everyone has a duty to family and his refusal to make both families happy irks her. But she does not realize her anger comes from his rejection of her- the most eligible girl in town. She's the one everyone looks up to, she's the biggest catch around and he rejects her without seeing her!? How dare he!? Who does he think he is!? Some educated Dubai millionaire. Nothing extraordinary. She's extraordinary, she rises above the norm around her. She does the ground breaking things. Kumud's gurur is not only stemming from her intelligence, but also her beauty - and most of it is warranted.

Episode 7 Tuesday -

Saras comes in and completely submits to Kumud's family, much to her surprise. He doesn't reject them or stay apart like some haughty guest. He indulges her crazy family with their crazy antics. What stood out was that the CVs remembered to show the old intimacy between Saras and her family in subtle ways. Kaka treats him like a son and he looks to him for help as a dad. Notice when he wants to be saved from Gyan. Masima is reminded that she's like her son first. Our Saras has no shortage of mummies. There are four so far, ma, mom, masima and Dukhba.

There is an innocence about him as Kumud's dad notes. It's all in the eyes. Speaking of which, his beautiful ones land on the vanishing beauty upstairs and his heart sighs in anticipation. That was the episode moment. Gautam did an incredible job when anticipating Kumud's arrival from the start, as did the actor playing Kumud's dad when he sees the golden boy awaiting his daughter. They are a blessed couple, from dad's point of view.

Saras excitement and disappointment during the tea scene is also palpable. He is worried how a girl with such a negative view of him will receive him. At the same time, he's excited to meet her, finally. His heart knows it's not Kumud almost immediately. Kusum is shy, Kumud is not. Kusum bows when Kumud arches her back against him . He realizes what a willful creature she is. But this time he's prepared. He responds with equal force. Mr. Alabaster is up against Ms. Iron Will.

Episode 8 Wednesday -

First real interaction. I was so charmed by the Devdas scene. An ode to male beauty. But when she goes to fan him, I was alarmed. I thought it looked like an axe! Lol the way she was swaying it over his head, I was thinking, what if she lands it on his neck 😆. Yes, yes, it was not a real axe I know, but it was a little symbolic of her feelings toward him.

No matter how powerful the man, in front of the woman he adores, he's always a kluz. Saav Dobo Chhe! He makes an idiot of himself by complaining about her fanning when he was only trying to make conversation to keep her in his room. Neither are very shy about barging into each other's space. To them, they have an intimacy, a real connection. That was really special, especially cause both are so conservative otherwise.

While the background was enlightening, the kid's voice was not authentic. Done by a tween girl, it really compromised the scenes. Why not just use the kid's voice?

End of the episode, we find they are both traditional, but never complacent. They don't like societal limitations that hurt when it should help the needy. Kumud did it with the milk scene and Saras with the drowning. They are two sides of the same stubborn coin, while their dads see this, they don't.

Episode 9 Thursday -

Saras does little inclinations to see are face they are so endearing and subtle that I am speechless. No matter what we see of both as viewers, they are only seeing each other's defensivesides. So, all he sees is a girl who tells him to get out in very colorful language every time they talk. He's hurt as her family is otherwise so welcoming. He doesn't understand why she never gives him a chance to explain himself. She can't stand him and thinks the worst of him. He wants her attention so badly and he thinks it is only to explain his case, but in reality, he wants her regard. Her attention. Her love. He wants her to trust him and is the first to notice and stop her from going into the fire. She thinks he is not worthy of trust for breaking the alliance. She is younger and one-tracked in mind. She weaved a dream and thinks he broke it when he was not even aware of it.

But he is getting inklings of this dream when he hears that she said yes to him by only seeing his eyes. He's intrigued that she lives in an unrealistic dream world like him and he wants to know if his guess is true. He wants her to validate him too. He wants her to say that she was hurt, she was taken by his eyes, she was into him when he has already rejected her. Men! ☺️ In other ways, he's such a gentleman. He lets her take out her anger on him without complaint when she rubs the haldi on his hand and doesn't even lose his temper⭐️. PS, classic Sanjay scene here. The directing is on another level, it has SLB written all over it.

Episode 10 Friday -

Oh my, this post is getting too long. Ok, last one. Question first, how come the village internet server which is otherwise awful on sunny days so good as to work with Skype on a rainy day? Ok, will forgive that for Saras' quick thinking just like I will forgive Saras and Kumud air-drying their clothes after a good drenching.😆

The scene I loved her so much was how he waited from Kumud to come to him and talk. He didn't turn around and show the eagerness he felt because he wasn't sure she was even coming to him. The shyness and qualms people feel in love was done so well here. I just love these SLB subtleties. Classic.

Kumud turning and leaving, also classic. The girl is proud and she cannot get over the hurt she felt. She's in denial about her hurt and puts it all on her hurt her dad will feel. To her, she's a selfish coward but now that he has saved her dad, he's not a coward anymore. She doesn't know who to deal with him. Symbolically, stuck in a thorny bush, she is extracted by Saras who wants to know if SHE wants him to stay. It goes to back to the validation he seeks 😕. He has given her no hope but displayed it through his patience with her, awaiting her the whole night. But it is not easy for a proud girl to give in like that when he rejected her so bluntly. Men! When will they ever understand? You get what you give. He might have no meant to hurt her so much, but he did and now he was to show regard if he wants it in return. The battle of wills is in full swing and we are loving it! 👏

SPEAKING OF GIVING AND GETTING. I HOPE THIS REVIEW HAS GIVEN YOU GUYS SOMETHINGS TO THINK ABOUT. SO PLEASE REPLY IN RETURN AND SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS, ADDITIONS, AGREEMENTS, DISAGREEMENTS, ETC ALL WELCOME.

****My theory is that Dukba's Kumari was adopted after Saras was taken from her. Saraswati probably left him to Dukba who had no children of her own. Puzzlement is that she is supposedly still married, who knows to whom (Laxmikanth? Saras' uncle?). But she was childless and raising Saras as her son when Saras' dad forcefully took him back.

Your posts are always a joy to read and I hope you continue to post your reviews as I love reading other viewpoints...

All the episodes this week were built up very well...on one side we can understand Kumuds reticence with regards to Saras and as a viewer you also want her to give him a chance to be able to explain himself...but then when he waits for her all night and she finally goes to him all he comes out with is 'mujhe jana hoga'...no explanation ...kumud's right...'sau dobo chhe'...if he wants her to understand his predicament he has to open up to her...twice Saras had the opportunity to speak with her this week and both times he put his foot in it...the poor guy just gets really flustered whenever he's around this girl...she brings forth feelings that he's probably never felt before and kumud refuses to give in even an inch...she can't get around the fact that she was rejected even without Saras seeing her face whereas she just saw his eyes and said yes...Kumud, at the moment is riding on her high horse but even she will have to give in at some point...because neither of them are wrong but they're both not right either and somethings just gotta give...

I don't know if I made any sense at all but just thought I'd put my thoughts together, which I'm afraid came out in a jumbled mess

Not a mess at all. I totally agree with what you are saying. You put it so beautifully.

People don't respond on the weekends, so I am wondering if it is worth it.
