Pooja's aunt tells her that she ought to dress up for Shivratri because she might bump into her Prince today. Pooja smiles and says that's something that only happens in movies. Her aunt then launches into her own real life love story -
18 years ago she was at the temple with her mother for Shivratri when she reached up to ring the bell and her hand collided with that of a tall handsome young man. She fell for him at first sight and was delighted to see him the very next day on her way to college. Pooja asks what happened to him, where did he go? Her aunt says she wouldn't let him go anywhere! 😆 She caught him and quickly married him. Pooja laughs and says she didn't know her aunt and uncle had such a romantic beginning to their love story.
At the temple, her aunt tells the priest to bless Pooja so she weds her Prince within the year. She leaves Pooja to pray in front of the Shivling and a blushing Pooja closes her eyes and kneels to one side, facing the front steps of the temple. As she opens her eyes, she sees Brij walking up the stairs. She can't believe her eyes. (Neither could I! 😆I thought for sure she must be dreaming! )The two of them lock eyes and smile shyly at each other. Pooja is beaming at him. Brij loiters around waiting for her to finish her prayers and get prasad from the priest.
Pooja begins by apologizing to him for not waiting last night. Brij is about to say something when a phone starts ringing and Brij hunts for his phone. He's surprised to see it's not his phone but Pooja's. He asks her when she got one but she answers the phone instead - it's Arti who is happy she can now call Pooja whenever she feels like talking to her. Pooja has her eyes fixed on Brij as she tells her sister that she was waiting for this. Brij blushes. And Pooja comes back to her senses and moves away to talk privately to Arti.
The sisters gently tease each other about keeping Shivji's fast and getting husbands. Pooja teases Arti about her upcoming wedding and Arti teases her by saying she has a feeling Pooja's own future husband must be nearby 😳. Pooja sneaks glances over her shoulder at Brij, who is now talking to Shamsher, and smiles shyly.
Arti says their parents are out and she needs to make food because she doesn't want Sumitra to cook. Pooja asks if there's something wrong with Sumitra but Arti makes excuses and Pooja is too lost in her thoughts of Brij to sense anything wrong.
Pooja goes up to Brij and greets Shamsher who stops mid-sentence and immediately decides to go wait in the car. (Dost ho to aisa! Kitna samajhdar! 😛) Brij and Pooja discuss her new phone and Brij asks her if she has his number on it and gives her a missed call to make sure. Another devotee bumps into them and Brij realizes they're standing in everyone's way so he guides her to one side so they can talk.
Unseen by both of them is GIRIDHAR, who is observing them closely!! 😲
Pooja and Brij are both being very cute and awkward with each other, making small talk as they drink each other in. It's like all the bad stuff never happened. Pooja's face is shining and Brij can't keep his eyes off her. Finally, Brij tells her that he wanted to talk to her yesterday but only later came to know that she left after waiting for him for a long time. He has something to tell her but before he can say what it is, Pooja's aunt comes up to them 😡 to give Brij prasad and remind him that he promised to come to their house. She tells Pooja they're getting late and so they all leave.
G. is standing behind a pillar observing all this and thinks there's something fishy brewing between Pooja and Brij. He says Brij likes to swim in deep waters and G. will be the man to put that face of Brij in front of Daddaji. He'd like to see Brij's face then! (Yup, a major twist is coming in the Brija story - I can feel it! 😕)
At the rehearsal hall, the director of the academy tells an unknown someone on the phone that he's coming over with the entire troupe. He stresses that everyone is coming. The troupe goes to Daddaji's home and Daddaji welcomes them warmly. Brij is immediately a little reserved as he stands next to Daddaji and watches Pooja walk toward him, still shining like the moon although she doesn't make it obvious that Brij is the reason for this. Krish and the other boys touch Daddaji's feet.
Daddaji and his wife do the pooja and then Daddaji tells Pooja that he's heard that Saraswati has blessed her voice and he would like her to sing a bhajan for this special occasion. The troupe looks happy but Shelley is sulky as always. Pooja looks instantly worried, the way she always does when asked to sing.
Pooja sits in front of the idol with her troupe sitting behind her and Daddaji and other guests sitting in a semi circle around them on sofas. As the first notes of Satyam Shivam Sundaram float out, Daddaji looks stunned by her sheer talent and Brij looks incredibly proud as he folds his arms and sits back to enjoy Pooja's singing. G. looks annoyed. Everyone else, from Krish to Daddaji's wife are lost in Pooja's singing. She sings with full devotion, looking so lovely that Brij can't take his eyes off her as his fingers keep time to her rhythm.
Everyone breaks into a huge round of applause as she draws to a triumphant end and Pooja shyly looks around with a glad smile.
Precap: Pooja has apparently tripped or otherwise fallen down and is sitting awkwardly with tears pouring down her face. Daddaji and some others are facing her while Krish and the rest of the troupe are standing behind her. Brij comes up in front of Daddaji and offers Pooja his hand. She hesitantly puts her hand in his and he slowly draws her up. Brij and Pooja are in the classic pose with him bending over her in his arms, the two of them staring into each other's eyes. He is trying to hide the emotion in his eyes while Pooja's staring directly up at him with tears trickling down her face.
OMG Giridhar! I hope this love story doesn't come to an end even before it begins! I have very bad vibes about that precap. The way Brija were acting, he looked guilty and she seemed accusatory. I hope Daddji didn't make An Announcement re: Brij.
