Starting 30 Dec, a socio-mytho drama 'Santoshi Maa', the story of Goddess Santoshi and her ardent devotee's undying belief is set to hit the small screen. This divine intervention, which reinforces a positive lesson in contentment will air every Monday to Friday at 9:00pm on&TV.
The show marks the comeback of Bollywood actress Gracy Singh as Santoshi Maa while the demure Ratan Rajput will be seen playing her devotee Santoshi. Says Gracy, "I always wanted to portray a character that can spread the message of peace, love, happiness, contentment and divinity. After waiting for a while, I am glad that a role like this came my way. I am spiritually inclined and it felt like this was a calling for me. Santoshi Maa is considered to be the Goddess of satisfaction and a show on the Goddess' divinity is very relevant in current times. Each one of us is chasing something or the other in life but we never feel content with the results. Faith in God can transform our lives and we can achieve inner happiness. This has been my experience and that's exactly what the show is all about."
Adds Ratan, "This is an inspiring story that aims to bring out the message of contentment, which is missing in today's time. We tend to ignore what we already have and are dissatisfied with the present. The story will bring out lessons to learn and will connect with families. Much like the Goddess, my character Santoshi has no malice or greed in her heart. The show will chart her journey and her faith in the Goddess to help her survive any situation."
