A/N : A short and random one shot- came out of me when i was supposed to have good night's sleep! oh and it has little Tadka of my All time fav movie- Jab We Met. 😉

To Runaway its easy, but with whom we cross paths is what it counts!
It had been weeks since she breathed fresh air, weeks since she saw a sun set and weeks since she was out of the house. She was putting everything at stake, her family reputation and to some extent her life too. But what could she do? It was the last blow she could take. It was the last straw to her patience. Had her dad not gone to locking her up in room and fixing her wedding to the very next day, she wouldn't have done this! She would have come up with some solution, like always; if she had time to think. But her lovely father had made sure she would rip of her hair before she could even think of an escape plan. Everything happened so suddenly! The surprise engagement and the surprise Mandap that was getting decorated in the living room of her beautiful mansion!
She had said, she had begged, she had even tried to threaten. But none worked. Nope. Naah! Finally she went on to her best aid, her mother. Hoping atleast there would be one soul to understand her dream, a dream to work in one of the reputed companies in the world- Global Creations'. Hell she was even the first female candidate to be selected! But all her family sees and understands about a girl is - be a wife, mother and servant by default!
Sanyukta sighed deeply. How she wanted to just jump out of that gate and never to return. She couldn't do it, could she? She would have to come back to this place called home, someday for sure. As she saw the last guards of the platoon her father had brought in, leave the compound she smiled. Is it time? Is it the time she would bid bye to her once world?
"if you are done with staring into space, can we leave? I am freezing here for god sake!!!" Randhir groaned behind her. She hit her forehead how had she forgotten one of the most annoying jerk?
"wait.. just few seconds more.." she said biting her fingers and scanning for anyone around in the vicinity.
"no matter how much u scrutinize, there is no one out there!! All have left searching for you in different directions. But you ofcourse hid in your house! Can we leave already???" he said rubbing his forearm. Why was it so cold today?
Sanyukta let a puff of air out of her mouth. Gathering her back pack she got up. "lets go!" she grinned. Albeit hiding the little sadness behind her twinkling eyes. She would miss her family.
"tell me one thing, for all I know whats in that little brain of yours, I still cant figure out how did you get this idea to hide in your own house while your family thinks you have run-away and are probably hunting down every corner of delhi!" randhir wondered. Sanyukta looked at him incredulously.
"Jab.We.Met!" she groaned at his raised eye brows.
"??"
"Movie duh! The hit movie of Bollywood! Which ofcourse you boys, especially you would never have heard of!"
"Wait.. Miss Engineer, is also a bollywood fan? Now that's new!!!" Randhir chuckled. No he laughed, he mocked! The guts?
"Every Indian is!" sanyukta crossed her arms over her chest "then again, there are exceptions!!" sanyukta rolled her eyes and jogged downstairs from the terrace. Randhir followed, trying his best to hide the laugh.
"feeling bad?" randhir asked once they reached the gates. Turning around sanyukta smiled at the beautiful house. "no.. but I wonder how do I even fix this mess? They would hate me for the rest of their lives!" she looked down.
"yes they would be sad and angry now. They might even send another platoon of cops to find you, but they will give up soon. They will give up on finding you. And one day they will realize they are the proud parents of a wonder girl. An engineer should I call?" he said with a warm smile.
Every word of his touched and soothed her aching heart. From when is his words so comfortable? The randhir she had started knowing recently was nothing but caring, with that MCP mask ofcourse. All she wished was he would be his true-self more often with her, for some reason that was very warm. He was spreading warmth unknowingly.
"uhm.. mhmm. GoodBye Mom, Dad and Bhaiya!" finally they set on their ways to achieve their dreams.
I have no idea why I help you always, I have no idea why you put me to edge, I have freaking no idea why are you so tempting. All I know is, by just making you smile I feel light hearted, I feel I achieved something, something that heal my paining heart. I cant forget the fact that you are no more an enemy. You are something special. And that I would never dare to tell you!! Nope. Pride you see. Randhir said mentally.
Like always you were here to mock at me; this time for my wedding. Like always you ended up saving my life. Like always once again, I feel that pang in my heart everytime I see you smile. Nope, I don't know what feeing is this, nor I know what to consider you as! Not a friend not an enemy either. Special May be? And that randhir, I would never dare to tell you! A little of pride you see. Sanyukta said mentally.
"Running away finally?" Randhir asked once out of the house.
Sanyukta smiled, "yes and ironically with you."
She hadn't realized what that sentence would bring up. All it created was tension. Another length of tension to the already long chain! Wow!
"And still I don't get the girl!!" Randhir joked.
Sanyukta looked at him wide eyed. "That was exactly what shahid kapoor said in the movie!!!"
Randhir turned around and started walking faster. It was only later she realized he had seen the movie too, shouldn't she be laughing at him now? Oh wait boy! You are gonna have the long night ahead.
She ran behind him mocking at him until his cheeks turned red.
Goals were same; path were collided, because they are destined. She was realizing it and him too.
