First of all apologies for not doing updates last week and secondly thank you all so much for your messages of support. It meant a lot to me.
Anyhoo, to the update.
The scene opens with Tolu Molu in MB making jokes about Kokila's capability to reduce Ahem to being her son again. Hetal appreciates what they are trying to do but she says that she cannot relax. Paridi takes a phone call from Jigar who tells her what happened in Mumbai. In tears she narrates how Ahem did not listen to Kokila and went ahead with the engagement and this caused Kokila to collapse and she has been taken to hospital. Hetal is stunned, yet Kinjal sits there with a surly face. The girl's mother has been taken ill and not emotion? Parag gets upset hearing this and says that he will go to Mumbai. Tolu Molu tells him that there is no need as Jigar is there but Parag is worried. He wants to go straight away. Tolu Molu placate him and say that they will organise something.
At the hospital the family are waiting anxiously. The doctor comes out and Ahem asks about Kokila's health. Gopi bombards the doctor with questions. He reassures that Kokila is fine and that she has an issue with blood pressure and not a heart attack as originally thought. On hearing this Gopi joins her hands and gives thanks to Kanaji. Vidya mirrors Gopi's actions and words. The doctor says that he wants to run some tests and that Kokila will stay in hospital overnight for observation.
Ahem glares at Gopi and blames her for Kokila's situation. That if she had not come looking for him, Kokila would not have followed her and got to know about the engagement and become ill. Again he blames her. Gopi stares at him silently.
The doctor comes back and says that the family can go home but someone can stay with her. Ahem says he will stay as does Gopi. The doctor goes to get the treatment papers. Ahem again lays into Gopi saying that he knows how much she considers relationships. That she is pretending to be a good daughter in law and care about Kokila. He tells her that she is human and to stop being God. He knows that she will do whatever false concern but it will mean nothing to him.
Meera butts in, supporting her father's words but Gopi slams her down and tells her that when elders are speaking, children should not interfere. Ahem jumps in and says that why is Gopi scolding Meera. If she has anything to say then to say it to him. He says that he will stay with Kokila and tells Gopi to leave.
The doctor arrives with a nurse and gives her instructions on Kokila's care. He gives papers to Ahem to sign. Gopi takes the papers from Ahem and says that whatever happens, she will stay at the hospital and will sign the papers for Kokila's treatment. The doctor tells them to mutually agree as to who will stay.
Gopi says that whatever Ahem says about her playing god but whatever she has done has been for the good of her family and hereon will do the same for whatever the family and her mother in law thinks right. She taunts him that he says that she is pretending to show concern but asks him what he is doing? He is doing the same pretence. That in ten years he did not once think of his mother and how she is living without him and now all of a sudden he is the ideal son and is concerned. Ahem counteracts that she is talking nonsense and who is she to accuse him falsely. She replies that the woman he calls mom, she is her daughter in law. She further tells her that he had a blood relation yet he left her and came here but she has never left her mother in law nor will she and that no one can separate her from Kokila, even if it is him. She tells in that in the past 10 years did he ever think of how his mother is living and today he is playing the dutiful son. She tells him that he has not fulfilled the role of an ideal son.
Ahem tells her that she did what she thought was right and that today he is doing what he thinks is right. Gopi applauds him that he left him mother and came here and considered that decision as right. Did he not think of his mother, what was happening there? Did he ever think of what she was going through? She then tells him how Kokila left MB and is living in chawl due to an accident during Kinjal and Dhawal's arguments. Ahem looks on. She further tells him how she is looking after Urmila and Rashi. Did he not even care that she was alive or dead. Ahem shouts at her to silence her but she won't stay quiet, shouts back and lays the blame of Kokila's condition squarely on him.
Gopi continues to tell him how Kokila came to find her son but he rejected his mother and calls her Mrs Kokila Modi. She further says that she is alive and will take care of Kokila. Meera again interrupts but is stopped in her tracks by Gopi who laments that Meera's upbringing has some things lacking which is why she has no respect.
The nurse comes out and tells both Ahem and Gopi for shouting in the ward. They both say that they will stay. The nurse says that she is fed up, they should both stay but make sure that they do not spoil the peace of the hospital.
Mansi asks Ahem to update her on Kokila's condition. He agrees and she takes the girls home. Vidya asks Jigar to come with them and is backed up by Meera. Jigar politely refuses but Mansi requests him too. He refuses and says that he will see them here in the hospital. He requests Gopi to update him.
Kokila is lying on the hospital bed. Gopi enters and tends to her. She sits, holds her hand and tells her not to worry. That she is with her and how she gave her courage to not fail and tells Kokila that she must not fail. Ahem looks sadly through the window. Gopi further says that she does nothing without her blessing and that together they will bring their family together and that she will fill the void that her son and granddaughters have left. She will be her all. Ahem stands on the other side of the door in tears.
The nurse comes in to check Kokila and sends Gopi out.
Gopi sees Ahem asleep on the bench and takes a pillow from the trolley and puts it behind his head, in doing so Ahem leans on Gopi. Saath Nibhana Saathiya plays. Gopi looks at him, sadly.
She forgets for a moment and moves to touch his arm, with love. Then in flashback she remembers how he taunted, insulted her, demeaned her and disrespected his mother. Angry Gopi is back to the fore, yaaayyy, she pushes away his arm, removes hers from behind his head and stomps off. Ahem wakes, sees her walking away and is in pensive mood.
Pre cap. Meera speaks to Ahem that due to an uninvited guest he could not get engaged. Gopi scolds Meera and says that her father's engagement is more important than her grandmother's health. Meera says that she does not need to learn from her how much to worry about Kokila and as for loving her grandmother, she does not need to prove to anyone.
So there you have it peeps 😃. A looonnng written update 😆. Hope it is OK. Can I say btw that I am loving this Gopi. Want her to be like this when she is wronged. Forget what Ahem says about being another Parag Modi. Gopi is not another Kokila. She can love and she can fight back. Been waiting for this for a long time.
