The producers hold auditions and they select the actor on that basis. But it was definitely the CV's intention to bring the other woman angle because they wanted a twist for the show post leap to grab eyeballs.

The reason I'm disappointed is that instead of doing something different, they have gone for the tried and tested formula. I also feel that Gopi and Ahem's relationship did not undergo any growth during the last leap. If you look at that one year, majority of the storyline was wasted on Radha and the Masterji. There was no track only centered on Gopi, Ahem and their daughters. What happened to Vidya feeling jealous about Gopi's attention being divided between her and Meera? What about Meera's education? The Masterji had got Meera through in school by cheating didn't he? So then how did Meera cope in school? How did Gopi, Ahem and the girls adjust to being a family after so many years apart? How did Ahem and Gopi settle in their relationship after 8 years? What did Gopi did in does 8 years? I would've like it if they had gone into more detail about this. In fact,, a good track would have been showing what Gopi did after she left Modi Bhavan. They could have given a positive message to all those women who are treated badly by their in laws and end up kicked out of the house and onto the streets. How hope is not all lost and you can make a better life for yourself? What troubles did she encountered? What hurdles did she cross? Are you trying to tell me that wherever Gopi goes, everything falls into place, people are always good, they always help her, no one looks at her in a bad way, even in jail the criminals seemed like saints! 😆

There is just not enough focus on the important things in Ahem and Gopi's relationship, the things that define who they are. All that happens is: Gopi and Ahem live happy-shappy together, eye-lock here, eye-lock there, one kiss per year, then disaster strikes, Ahem gets angry, they get separated, some blame Gopi, some blame Ahem, few blame both, they meet, nothing seems to get resolved, until third person comes to cause a further divide when Gopi realizes and after months and months of dragging they finally throw that person out of their lives and go back to being happy-shappy again. Why were they arguing in the first place? Even they don't remember or even care anymore. 😆

But then what's the point in me complaining? Look at the TRPs. This is what viewers like. So why should I expect anything different? And now I see in the forum that Gopi has finally found her voice and is giving back. Well good for her. 👏 But personally, I don't care anymore. Too little too late. They can get back together, get divorced, separate, do whatever they want to do. I lost the emotional connect with them a long time ago.

In case anyone is wondering why I still follow the show, it is because Tolu and Molu look like fun characters and I want to know more about Ahem's cake business. 😆

Nikki, I have just mentioned this could be one of the possibilities. Noone knows completely what is happening there. By the way I am not saying that if Gopi leaves, the whole house will fall apart. It is the CV's who made it that way. They have made her the Sachin Tendulkar.

I will definitely say one thing that if you want to throw your rants let it be on the CV's and not on the person who is posting.

Even I am watching it for time-pass. If a person watches it in his/her house, the whole family will discuss about it. The only difference is that we are discussing about it in the forums. Even I am disappointed about the way they are taking Gopi's & Ahem's relationship to testing times. I never found that much of tests for the lead roles in other soaps.

In 22 years of married life, they were happy only for two and a half years. When they were newly married, their relationship was pathetic for 1 and a half years. Then came the education track. After that their golden period began but not for long. But what can be done. In other soaps, the lead roles relationship have set a very good example but Gopi-Ahem relationship does not have a good example compared to other lead roles in other soaps.

If at all the heroine leaves the house in other soaps, they would have lived happily with their husbands for many years. But in SNS, that is not the case. I agree with all the points that you have mentioned. But I am happy about one thing that Gopi has found her voice.
