Hi friends,

I am attempting to write a new ff. Please do offer your comments and suggestions. I am aware that there is scope for improvement and I would be indebted to those who offer me constructive criticism. Either a post or a PM would do😊

Chirag tale andhera

Chiraag jalana To Purani Rasmein Hain Ghalib

Ab To Tere Sheher Ke Log Insan Jala Dete Hain

Part-1

Anita still remembers how Aham and she met. It was just a normal day, nothing seemed out of ordinary and yet it changed the course of her life forever. Till that day they didn't know about each other's existence and now she is sure is sure that existence without Ahem has no meaning. She loved Ahem for his abilities and skill, yet everybody thought that she was after his wealth. Even her friends refused to believe that she fell in love with Ahem even before she knew about his family's riches. The only person who believed her reacted irrationally and destroyed Kinjal's life along with hers.

Anita had etched Ahem's name on her heart and mind and it will go away only after her soul leaves the body. The Ahem she loved so deeply is now longer with her but she still pines for him. It is true that Ahem is unattainable now but hope springs eternal

Part-2
Anita couldn't see why she was rejected by Koki, after all didn't Koki bring in an educated bride for her son? Even Ahem knew that she was a better person than Rashi. She wasn't brash and outright rude like her''..and yet how did Kokila's unerring judgement make the mistake? Anita was no gold digger, her family was affluent too. While her family's wealth was far lesser than those of Modi's but her parents were enlightened and refined, they never considered her gender as an impediment in the path of her success. She received good education and her academic achievement were the envy of many, she was a go-getter fuelled by the desire to make a mark in the world. Kinjal was her childhood friend but now they are in two different leagues, her parents let her achieve her potential whereas Kokila clipped Kinjal's wings.

How long will the society view educated women as incapable of having a happy family. Isn't an accomplished wife a happy wife? Ahem is frustrated by the kitchen politics at his home. Kokila spews vitriol on Rashi and they both engage themselves in never-ending fights. Rashi cribbing gets on Ahem's nerves at times but he can do little more than scream at her and think of Anita. Being manipulative was never one of Anita's vices, she was too well brought up to scheme like Rashi. Anita was above all this pettiness.
Gopi was married off by her aunt into a poor household. Inspite of Urmila's best efforts Gopi ended with a man who was aware of the ways of the world, he was fuelled by an intense desire to make it big and saw Gopi as a partner in his rise. Both Gopi and Paresh grew with each other's support. Paresh's behavior was seen by Urmila as the foolish acts of a stupid man but in reality they were the brave acts of a pioneer.

Part-3

Modi Constructions was founded by Chirag and Parag's father. Theirs was a typical rags to riches story, Jamunadas Modi was the fifth among the seven children of a poverty stricken labourer. They had a hand to mouth existence and during lean months there were days when they didn't have anything to eat. Jamunadas joined the workforce at a young age and worked hard to bring food on the family's table.

Though he was illiterate he had a sharp eye for opportunities. He left his village and sought employment in Rajkot as a construction worker.
He saved money and opened a small shop dealing in low-end construction materials . Most of his suppliers happened to be labourers who stole the materials from their worksite. Modi's business did bring in some much needed money but unfortunately it also made him look down upon his wife whom he had left behind in the village.
One day he went to a small-time contractor's house to take an order; there he saw a pretty girl who was drying her hair and singing while remaining oblivious to his presence. This had a devastating effect on Jamunadas, he forgot his family, his wife and his young son Viraj and decided to seek Sarita's hand in marriage. The contractor was having a hard time marrying off his six daughters and he gladly agreed to the marriage when Jamunadas told him that he doesn't want any dowry.
Back home Jamunadas' wife and son became destitute and all their efforts to trace him came to a nought. Sarita brought prosperity into Jamuna's life, his business took off and they became a well to do family. They had two sons- Chirag and Parag. They were both good at studies but Chirag was savvy and had an innate ability to sense opportunities whereas Parag was more intellectually inclined and liked literature.

Chirag won a scholarship and studied civil engineering whereas Parag(the black sheep of the family) went on to study Hindi literature. Parag's lack of interest in "anything that makes money " irked his parents but he was protected by his brother. After completing engineering, Chirag got employment in Desai construction. He learnt the tricks of the trade here.

Jamunadas decided to get his eldest son married to Hetal, the soft spoken daughter of his friend. He hoped to get an assertive wife with a strong personality for his son Parag so that she could spur him. Kokila, the headstrong daughter of a relative of Sarita's bhabhi seemed the perfect choice.
