I agree with Justlikethat1. Fate stepped in. Ahem and Gopi were slowly coming to an understanding during the education track. Yes, Rashi has been instrumental and them coming closer but that was due to the kidnapping. Don't forget when Gopi wrote about her birthday she wrote that the best thing about her birthday was when Ahem wished her and shook her hand and he read it. But there were little things before then but I think that was the start of the beginning.
