Aham : why can't she talk to me?

Vikram: Aham, time is running..come on..

Aham: yeah..(He walk forward then suddenly the phone rang and he took the phone hurriedly and said, gopi..why didn't you answer my calls?Anita said, aham…its me..anita..)

Aham: Oh..Anita..

Anita: if you are not interested, then I will put down..

Aham: No..anita..am not..i mean…you called? Anything important..

Anita: Aham, all the best for your presentation..

Aham: Thanks anita.i got to run…bye..

{Aham did the presentation well…Everyone around him were applauding and vikram sir said, surely you will get the award. Presentation chairman stood up and said, we will announce the winners shortly and there is a surprise for the winner of the competition}

After sometime, results were to be declared…Third prize was given now the time for second one..it was also given..Vikram: Aham, this last one is for you…

Presentation committee chairman stood up and said, to declare the winner, Mr.Aham Modi…

Everyone clapped as aham stood up to get the prize and chairman said, now its time for the surprise…We have decided that we will implement the presentation in one of the leading companies and one company had agreed to sign up with us on this…Mr.Aham Modi gets to work with this company and there is a 2 year warranty period..

Vikram: company? Which one?

Chairman: Modi industries.

Aham stared at the chairman in horror as he gave him the letter..

Chairman: you can start working on this project while you are studying..you will get all help from the company employees

Aham: Did the company MD or any one else knows that I have won?

Chairman:no..they have made this contract months before ..why do you ask?

Aham: Nothing..(he smirked at the thought of seeing his father's expression on seeing him)when do I have to join?

Chairman: Next week..you show this letter to the MD..Mr.Parag Modi…address is inside the cover..

Aham: thanks..

Vikram and aham went outside..Vikram: what crap is this? aham , I thought everyone in business world knew you..but I was mistaken..he doesn't even know you are parag's son…

Aham: Sir, there are millions of companies..yes, in Mumbai, my dad's company is the biggest and everyone there know me..

Vikram: you shouldn't have accepted this…are you not afraid?

Aham: sir, God is with me..now I will go to my office and show to my dad..

Vikram: aham..that's not a way to speak about your dad …

Aham: sir, one good thing is we can return today itself..

Gopi's house

Gopi: Tell me baba..

Jeethu was crying and he was trying to speak through hiccups..kokila went and get him some water..

Jeethu: Gopi beta, after you went, Rajeev went mad at geetha..He said so many awful things..

{ Flashback:

Rajeev : How dare you deceive me? You asked that boy to come here and marry her..don't you?

Geetha: No..i didn't ..

Rajeev : you knew you knew..it was my plan to get gopi all for myself..

Geetha : what are you talking about?

Rajeev : oh..you are acting like you didn't know ..that I made plan with my friend raju to get gopi marry me..all those shouts and drama were to get sympathy in the eyes of villagers and to marry gopi in the name of protecting our family honor..

Geetha (a look of horror in her eyes hearing what he had planned) : You done this ..you done all this to get her..don't you feel ashamed? She is my sister..your sister…

Rajeev : that's why you protected her..right..you bitch…(and he went on to slap her but urmila stood in between them..)

Rajeev : if you don't want to get died, step aside..

Umrila: Rajeev, geetha doesn't do anything..i did..why do you think I shouted at my daughter and told her horrible things in front of the whole village..because I knew your plan..

Rajeev looked at her..

Urmila: Yes..i knew you were planning something like this..but if you think I can't protect my children then its your foolishness..

Rajeev: protect? You know nothing about that aham boy

Umrila: yes..i know..i know that my daughter is safe there..I know that aham will look after her as he seem to be a good son and…he was the only reason that my daughter was safely back home from goa..

Rajeev: may be yes..but I will not allow him to get her..not now..(he pushed urmila forward and urmila fall on the floor and he stamped her with his foot and jeethu tried to stop him but he pushed him too…villagers were looking through the glasses but no one tried to break open the door and rescue them…rajeev was In a rage and he took urmila by her hair and slammed her face in the wall one, two, three times ..geetha and jeethu tried to push him away but he was strong..room was full of chaos..and Rajeev slammed urmila hard on floor..geetha again went to Rajeev to pull him back but he laughed at her and stamped his foot on jeethu..Rajeev : if you both die, gopi will have to come here..and I will have her..all by myself..He again went to pull urmila and geetha tried to pull his hands again she fell..and Rajeev pushed urmila's already battered face, for one last slam on wall, he got pain his back..pain lioke he has never experienced…His hands loosened on urmi's hair and she fell on floor and he saw the horror-stricken faces of villagers outside the windows glasses and reflection of geetha on his behind..He turned and geetha again stabbed knife hard in to his belly…Rajeev looked down and saw blood pouring out and he looked at geetha as he fell on floor..Villagers broke the door and launch themselves upon urmila to get her in hospital and geetha went on stabbing Rajeev till jeethu's hand went to rest on her shoulder and whispered.."he is gone… " )

Gopi was thunder-struck in the living room as the words of jeethu washed over her..kokila was looking at gopi and jeethu..Gopi : where is she?

Jeethu: Police arrested her..life imprisonment..(He wailed)

Kokila stood in middle and wondered whether she ought to hear more or should she wait to hear more ..Gopi was not crying now..it looks like her tears have dried up magically and she sat there ..Kokila went near her and said, gopi..its getting late..if you want to stay, then you can..

Jeethu: No..Gopi cannot stay here..rajeev's friends..if they knew gopi is here, they will try to revenge..

Gopi: am not going anywhere..

Kokila: Gopi ..your father is saying the right thing..we have to go..

Gopi: you can go..its my house and my life..am not going anywhere. She stood up and went near urmila and put her head in urmila's hands..kokila looked at gopi..She felt a kind of respect and awe for her..a girl..working at this age when she ought to be enjoying her life..studying by her own salary.yet..no complaints..she remembered aham's words in temple..She thought.."how is she doing all these things?Working, studying.."

Her thoughts shattered as she heard a loud scream outside…"Gopi" Jeethu stood up and he gestured not to make sound and he went to peep through the window pane..He whispered..Rajeev 's friends..Gopi got up and tried to went outside but got her way blocked by kokila.

Gopi: please stay away from all these..

kokila: No..you are not going anywhere..

Jeethu: yes,gopi beta..you should not..please listen..

Raju and others were making howling noises and they were trying to break open the door. Villagers were frightened and none of them went outside for jeethu's rescue..

Jeethu: Gopi ..go from here..if they got you, I can't imagine it..please ..i and your mother will live anyhow but to see our own children getting in danger, is painful for us..When gopi tried to protest, jeethu said, for your mother..go from here..go..

Kokila pulled gopi away and both of them went outside through the back door as raju and others broke the door and entered the house..

Raju: Search every nook and corner..{ car was speeding up through the lanes as gopi let out a shriek..STOP..and she went outside and landed herself on the ground and cried..Kokila was thunder-struck and she went near her and tried to console her..}

Gopi: Go..i don't need anyone..its all because of me..i am the reason for my mother's state…am the reason for my sister's fate..am bad..am unlucky..

Kokila : Gopi..calm down my girl..you are not unlucky and why do you think so? Look, everything will be alright..i assure you..i will make sure that your mother gets the bets treatment possible and your sister will get bail..trust me..

Gopi(eyed kokila through tears and she felt affection in them..They were similar to aham's eyes..)

Kokila: Now get up..we have to get back or else anjali will get suspicious..{Kokila helped gopi to get in the car and on they went together}

Gopi reached at the anji's house and anji's mom was at the door..Aunt: Gopi, where's kokila?

Gopi: She is gone..said something about getting late..

Aunt: okey..now there's a surprise for you..

Gopi looked at her and thought what to say as her whole life seem to be laughing at her and aunt opened the door..Sunil, anji,anita,rahul and vivek were there…oh wait..there is another person too..

Aham: Gopi..why didn't you answer my calls? Where were you by the way?

Gopi: I was..

Aham: Oh well..you know..i got selected..

Sunil: yeah..he got the first prize and a deal with his own company..

Rahul: yeah..we opt for party but he said wait for you...

Aham: Gopi..what are you staring at? Won't you congratulate me?

Gopi: yes..i ..Congrats..

Aham: Thanks..now go on..freshen up and come down soon..we will have party outside..okey..go..

Gopi nodded her head and went upstairs in a trance and went to her room..She has been out for only one day but it seem like ages..She looked through the window and saw reflection of the people there..All were smiling and chatting, enjoying themselves…Gopi tried to make a noise but none came..She sat on floor and tried to think the last time she had smiled…actually felt she has been living for a reason..when aham hugged her..but now all seems distant..Aham can't be included in this..it started with her..and it must end with her..She got up and get the towel and went to take the shower..As water splashed across her face, tears began flown across her cheeks..Its so easy to cry..to let out all the worries and emotions..with no one to hear.., Gopi thought.

Gopi dressed herself in a churidar and looked in the mirror and smiled..She went down and joined others. Aham was dancing with anita and anji with sunil..then aunt came with a large cake and aham cut it and gave one to sunil, one to anita, and everyone..Gopi stretch her hand to take the piece but aham gestured to give it to her mouth but gopi shook her head and tried to take the piece..But aham was not ready to lose and he stuffed it to her mouth..Everyone was laughing seeing this.Gopi looked to aham's eyes and she remembered kokila and walk off to one corner of room ..

Anji: So gopi, are you going to tell me where have you been today?

Gopi: Anji..i..i need your ..

Aham: gopi..come..i need to talk to you urgently..come on..everyone round up..here..come..

Sunil:what's it aham?
