I also think he trusts his mum completely, when he saw her at the mandir on their wedding day, though Kinjal/Anita were on his back, he was still intrigued you could tell, as her side of the family were late and when she brushed passed him to go inside, and ever since, mostly the maha episodes there give us hot eyelocks when he used to look at her, even before all the education track happened, he seek her out first thing...when she is in the room his eyes are there on her.
@ever, I think that scene in the rain he was thinking she had lost her mind, she was talking to herself a lot even later in her sleep she was talking about lentils, A B C, so he said she's lost it and he was probably feeling guilty that's it, my wife has gone mad because I shout at her too much...I really thought that's what his thinking...his attitude changed then for sure.
