Alesha shouldn't have accepted that job...and they further undermined her by getting a 4th judge as if Alesha couldn't hack it, if she resigned she would be proving them right that she was incapable, so now she is stuck as the 4th wheel, life in UK is like that if you are an ethnic minority, the BBC is also ageist that's why they got rid of Arlene and wanted someone fresh faced...same thing happened on countdown with Carol Voderman. Sorry for the long paragraph.

Answer...Neither, I think fresh face was required...Bruno is funny, Craig is Mr Cranky and straight forward, Len is Mr Technical...that left only Arlene to go, so Alesha could have worked but politics has taken over the matter...so Neither.

X-factor only works as a money making machine for Simon Cowell. We need to have an initial audition period where we can make fun of the deluded people that think they can sing so we can feel superior. Also the singing thing in Britain anyway is geared towards image and selling out venues whereas in India the real money is in playback for which personalities and image aren't as important as real talent.

Also India has established its own singing contests such as Sa Re Ga Ma Pa which do fine so I think it's cluttering an already over populated market.

How's that Nafisa? lol

Great answer on the X factor question, image not important but singing is more important and other shows are more established...I was thinking something else...that society in India would hate it to have a show that ridiculed people based on their inability to sing, because we laugh at the deluded people here, but we know it's cruel but that's our society heh like Darius in Pop Idol, he admitted his rendition of baby one more time (britney's song) was shit and so he laughed with everyone else at himself, but quick image change and he was actually gorgeous under the beard and long hair...but there they don't find humour in such things it's not politically correct and that is most important...by the way I think image is very important to Indian people, I'm surprised you think that is not the case...doesn't India have so many fairness creams, popping tablets and all Bollywood men stars have six packs.

Lol the image thing kind of came out wrong.

It's more to do with the kind of image x-factor likes to promote of their acts. They are usually packaged to show that they are sexy or glamorous which although important in India especially for tv and film I don't think that good singers are expected to be paraded like that. The indian music comps I've seen don't seem to be that focussed on giving a makeover to the contestants and seem to let the talent speak for itself.
