Hi Guys
here is a smaller part. hope you like it.
Chapter 11
Elesh was stunned at Ahem's statement that he can refuse the alliance if he wants and they won't pressurize him. He is very touched by the generosity of this family and their integrity and honesty. He didn't want to forsake this family, even if he was annoyed by Kinjal, but he was not. He was not annoyed with Kinjal. He just sympathized with her pain. He wanted to be a balm to her guilty conscience, which was eating at her from inside out.
Elesh – Why would I do that? I also need someone whom I can trust. And a girl who can confess her bitter past is the one I want, not someone who hides it. But please send someone to console her. She hasn't stopped crying since she started telling me everything.
Everyone is pleasantly surprised with Elesh's answer and were happy with their selection.
Rashi – I will go to her.
Koki nods her head in affirmative.
In Kinjal's room Rashi comes and sits by Kinjal on her bed and slowly rubs her back. Kinjal is totally inconsolable.
Rashi (hugging Kinjal) – Stop crying Kinjal. You will make yourself sick. It is OK. We will find Gopi soon. God can't be so cruel as to torture us this much.
Kinjal – I am so sorry Bhabhi. I forgot that it is not us who decides who will decides our life partner, but it is pre-ordained by God. I am so sorry that I hurt everyone. Most of all I am sorry I hurt Gopi Bhabhi. She was nothing but kind to me. Always. Even when she found Umang in my room for the first time and I accused her, she didn't say a word to defend herself.
Rashi – That is Gopi for you. She is more like a mother hen. She won't defend you, but she won't blame you either. She takes all the punishment as her due for not being able to make us good. Same as any good mother would do for her kids. This usually makes kids mature, but we were so drowned in self-importance that we didn't see what was in front of us. I too am sorry Kinjal. It was not just you, who did this to her. I too am responsible. How will you appreciate her in a couple of months when I never learned to appreciate her after living with her for so many years?
Kinjal – I hope Gopi Bhabhi comes back soon. This guilt is eating at me as a spider with million tentacles.
Rashi – yeah Kinjal. I too wish she would come back soon.
Back in the living room
Koki – Beta. You are a very kind person. Please take care of Kinjal. I know she has repented a lot, but we won't be able to forgive her till we find Gopi and Gopi forgives her. But we don't hate her. It is just that I lost confidence in my upbringing.
Elesh – Don't worry Maaji. I will always take care of her. Our relation might have been chosen for us by elders. But I already liked her at sight and now I trust her too. We have two things that I see as very essential in my life partner and I won't abandon her for the world.
Everyone is happy that this confession went this smoothly and they got such an understanding son-in-law. They sit down for lunch with Mani serving everyone.
Thus this alliance got finalized for Kinjal and all the rituals were started to make her a bride and send her off with her life partner.
Since the day started it was incessant rounds of shopping.
Ketki Kaki, Elesh's mom liked Kinjal a lot and bought everything a cut above for her would-be DIL. Kinjal also absorbed all this warmth and became a really loving person.
On one such rounds, they are shopping in a Mall, for clothes for different rituals that are to be fulfilled during wedding. While they were passing by a Shop, Kinjal hears a melodious voice instructing the owner about the various pricings that she thinks would be good for the displayed items. Kinjal is sure that she is Gopi. She goes there, but sees the figure walking away. Now Gayatri was wearing one of her own creations, a beautiful intricately embroidered chiffon Saree, but not in Gujarati style, but normal modern style. She didn't have oiled and plated hair either, but her hair was flowing like a waterfall. But something gave her away. The way she walked. Kinjal was a bit far away and the figure had already reached the entrance by the time Kinjal realized who it was. Kinjal had lost whom she thought was Gopi in the crowd. There was no end to her despair. She went totally pale.
She is not sure what to do, and how to find her again. In her confusion and desperation, she calls the one person, who needs to know about it. Her Bhai.
Kinjal – Ahem Bhai. I think I saw Bhabhi in this Mall.
Ahem – are you sure Kinjal. Are you really sure it was Gopi?
Kinjal – Truthfully, I don't know Bhai.
Ahem – What do you mean? You just said you saw Gopi and now you say you are not sure.
Kinjal – Listen to me Bhai. It was her voice and the way she moved also says it is her. But the clothes she wore are way beyond what she can afford. They speak of Classic elegance and seem to be way beyond what a poor person can afford.
Ahem – But you think it was her voice.
Kinjal – Haan Bhai
Ahem - Tell me about that part, I am right now heading to the Mall. What you heard and where you heard it?
Kinjal – She was telling the shopkeeper what prices the garment should be.
Ahem – What? Why would she do that?
Kinjal – I don't know Bhai. I'll go ask the shopkeeper.
Ahem – OK. Once you have asked give me a call.
Kinjal enters the shop and goes to the shop keeper.
Kinjal – Excuse me.
Shopkeeper – yes Mam. How can I help you?
Kinjal – Just now a lady was here in the shop, who was telling you what to put as prices for various clothes. Is she the owner?
Shopkeeper – Yes Mam. She is the co-owner of this shop.
Kinjal – Do you know where I can meet her?
The sales girls in the shop had heard it and were giving alarmed look to the shopkeeper
Shopkeeper – Sorry Mam. She never meets anyone face to face. She is very shy person.
Kinjal – Does she have a family? Who all are with her?
Shopkeeper – I am sorry Mam. I am not to gossip. She is a very private lady. If you want us to assist with your shopping, we will be happy to help. But please leave her alone.
Kinjal was surprised at the protective stance of the people in this shop. She had never seen employees protect the privacy of employers. Employees were the vultures who thrived on gossip about their employers. But these people were totally different.
She excuses herself and exits the shop. Ketki Kaki asks her why she entered Gayatri Creations.
Ketki – Kinjal Dikhra, why did you enter this shop? Do you know this designer?
Kinjal – Aunty. I thought I heard someone I knew in that shop. Is this brand famous Aunty?
Ketki – As famous as it can get with reclusive people. These are all exclusive creations. They never repeat a design with same colour fabric. There are no two pieces totally alike. If you missed a colour that suits you find something else, since there won't be a second piece of the same design in that colour.
Kinjal – if the brand is not famous, how are they employing people?
Ketki – its exclusivity is the reason, prices are a bit higher. But wealthy people like us, who can afford it, don't want someone else to wear the same creation we are wearing, so we spend the extra money, to be a cut apart from everyone. The store just has stylish casual wear. This collection is called Prerna. But exclusive bridal and festival wear, can be only made on order and the lady doesn't take order from new clientele unless they sign some agreements, as not to be curious who they are, along with a few regarding their preferences.
Kinjal – Did you ever buy from these people?
Ketki – Actually we used to. But the day Elesh offered a business deal, to this enterprise, they contacted us saying they won't be able to help us with our designer wear, since we breached the contract we signed with them, by proposing business relations with them.
Kinjal (a bit taken aback) – The nerve of them Aunty?
Ketki – No beta, they were very polite, when they refused. Both the offer and designing for us. They said there was a reason why they put "no business relations with clients" clause in the contract and they won't change it. They said their elder daughter doesn't like lime light.
Kinjal – that's strange Aunty?
Ketki – Indeed. Let's call Elesh to pick us now.
Kinjal – Don't worry Aunty. Bhai is on his way here. He will drop us home too.
After this conversation, Kinjal calls Ahem and recounts her conversation, both with the shopkeeper as well as Ketki Kaki. Ahem is surprised at the protectiveness of employees. He longed to have such loyal and protective people around him.
Ahem – Sounds strange. As if they have something to hide.
Kinjal – This name is also not very famous Bhai.
Ahem – I'll ask Aaryansh to look into it.
Kinjal – OK Bhai. But don't you want to speak to the shopkeeper.
Ahem – I don't think he will reveal anything. Let's see what Aaryansh unearths.
Kinjal – OK Bhai. But can you drop me and Aunty home?
Ahem – OK. I'll be there in 15 mins.
After disconnecting the call
Kinjal – Aunty, Bhai will be here in 15 mins.
Ketki – I forgot to ask Beta. Who did you think you heard in that shop?
Kinjal – Gopi Bhabhi.
Ketki is stunned.
Precap: Will Aaryansh remember Suraj Kaka? Will they be satisfied with any explanation Kaka gives?
