why gopi?

i 've strtd watching he serial recently ..before this i used to come across promos.i wanna know one thing..if koki was so headstrong and strict why did she choose gopi for aham..she cud have chosen rashi....did she choose her bcoz she really liked her and didnt calculate her son's rejection of her later???or she chose her bcoz she had some othe bad intention in her mind...pls reply as i have missed all the early episodes..😳

Even I am not a regular viewer of this serial. But what ever little I have seen, I think Koki chose Gopi for her son because, She never was going by the outer look and she wanted a homely girl who can take care of her son in all aspects. Gopi was too innocent and it would be easy to mold her to their requirements. Gopi is a simple, down to earth girl who cares and respects elders. And mainly Koki knew about his son's choice of other girl, she knew it will take some time for him to change his liking and the girl whom he marries should have the patience to wait till then without disclosing the fact to others. If she had chosen Rashi instead of Gopi, by now Rashi would have filed a divorce case on Ahem and bid the Modi parivars status in the open market.

I started watching the serial late also. So I went back and watched all the early episodes recently. I feel there is a slight change in Koki's character. Well, in the beginning, when the pandit asked her what type of girl she was looking for she said that she wanted someone like a "cow". I mean she did not want the girl to have full control of her son at all. Also Koki was shown very intuitive. Just by looking at a person she could say what type of person he or she was. So when she saw Gopi she wanted her as Ahem's wife. But actually, she went to see Rashi. Also in the middle, it seemed like Koki was more of a villain. She used to try to compete against Gopi. But now the creative team mellowed her down. Koki has an obsession to keep her son in hand basically because she feels embarrassed that her own husband does not run the business, but sits at home. Her only hope is Ahem.

thnk u so much.. for replying...so that means that koki goes to see rashi but decides that gopi is a better choice...which means it was out of choice that she has gopi as her bahu and not merely bcoz she had to do it by some other reason.. thanx again.

@missmhow..exactly Koki compared Rashi n Gopi.....then she Came to conclusion Gopi is the best option for her Son as A Bahu as she cant take Aham's control from her hands.....

Exactly! However, Ahem actually deep down inside is attracted to Gopi very much. There were some scenes in earlier episodes which confirmed that. But the problem is Anita, his girlfriend who got rejected by his mom. He thought for a while even after marriage that he was still in love with her. This was the main reason why he could not come close to Gopi. Also he has trouble digesting the fact now that his wife is uneducated while he himself is an educated businessman. Meanwhile, Rashi created some problems for which Gopi lost her reputation in front of him. All this are making him reject Gopi.

And oh, actually, in the beginning, Koki thought that Gopi did not have full right to enjoy the happiness of being the wife of Ahem. So she used to make sure that Gopi and Ahem could not be too close. But when she saw that her son actually rejected the girl her ego got hurt and now she is the one who wants to bring them closer.
