IF SRGMP Grand Finale Results

Dear Friends,

The D-Day has finally arrived.The judges have made their choices and the verdict is passed. In a short while from now we will have our own India-Forums "Suron ka Sartaj" - the champion and the two runners up of the IF SRGMP contest. 👏

For the grand finale round, apart from our three esteemed judges as per prior decision, we had the honor of having with us a specialist judge - Mr. Samar Majumdar who is a trained classical singer and is a disciple of renowned maestro - Pt. Bhim Sen Joshi Ji ..

It does feel a bit strange that this series is finally over. We were so involved in it that we did not realise how time passed by and a show that seems to have started just the day before yesterday , has already got its winners today ! The series was totally the fruit of team effort. The series cannot conclude until I have acknowledged those who made this show what it is . ..

I would like to first thank the selectors – Kanta80, Amit(sur_sangam) and Ranig who helped screen the audition entries and select the contestants.

The credit for the Gharana names and the slogans go to Jaya, and Manish ...

Credit goes to all the mentors – Priya, Sahana, Tanaz and Bhaskarfor taking charge of the 4 gharanas and leading their individual gharanas so well. A special mention for Appa and Amit too for providing guidance to Sur Sangam gharana participants beofre Bhaskar took over..

This show would have been nothing without fair judgement. A big thank you to all the judges - Sree, Minnie, Anitha.B and Sangeeta who have very diligently listened to all the songs round after round despite their busy schedules and have given the most fair judgements.Special thanks to our grand Finale Special Judge -Samar Majumdarji for not only taking time to judge the participnats but he also provided very valued suggestions to all.

The participants have played a major role. They have braced cold cough, computer crashes, intercontinental moves, mentor's wrath , tough rounds and yet took note of all the suggestions and to hit the right notes.They gave such brilliant performances that we forgot everything else. Thank you all for your patience , practice and performances.

If the mentors and the participants made the songs come out well, then the credit of presenting it beautifully goes to those brilliant banner artists and siggy makers who have for each round given the participants and the round themes a brand new look and make the threads so attractive. A big thank you to Zahida, Dolly, Khushi (Tumhari_Khushi) , Sweta (Lil. MS. Sunshine), Kimi_dost, Ammu, and Anu (Anu.Rad).

A special mention for the official reporters - Abhi (kabhi_21) and musicbug who provided us such funny and interesting articles on the show.

Thank you to Vinnie for recording the Podcast of one of the rounds. We all really appreciate it.

Managing the show would not have been possible without the able assistance of my two other coordinator friends – Anu and Jaya (*jaya*). They have a very big hand in the formatting of the show ,selection of themes and coordinators choice of song for participants and maintaining the clarity in communication whenever any questions cropped up.

Last but not the least I would like to thank Vijay Bhatter for all the help and support that he provided whenever required.
