How do you know that Aneek got his majority of votes from East/NE? I can understand about Debu because at his time is was announced from who got how many votes from where? Just curious.
Well for one, there were news reports of mass voting in Kolkata. Plus, news reports of all the people in the final in Mumbai (neutral zone) chanting Raja's name. And the feeling is that if Aneek really did get so many votes in India, they had to come from his region. As he himself admitted after the win, he was neither as good as Amanat, nor as widely popular as Raja (popularity in terms of people, not just votes).
So it was an educated assumption, based on what I know, that it was a situation similar to Debo's last time.

I don't agree. Here in the US, we had large groups voting for Aneek. If majority of his voters were from Bengal, he would have been 1st in India. But no, Raja was first because of the frenzy of voters from Rajasthan.
Well apparently, Aneek was first in India - he got 4 lakhs more than Raja. Shocking, I know.
Aneek fans apparaohoare and advil will be happy to provide you the calculations.

Holymary ji, yeh to aap record straight karne ke chakkar mein alag hi record pe chali gayi. My topic hasn't even mentioned Amanat, but all you have done is talk about Amanat. I know you can't stop thinking about Amanat, but let's stick to the topic please - Aneek and Debojit. 😛

I will refute your post by setting the following records straight:
1. Aneek was at least hundred times better than Amanat.
All the judges and celebrity guests were most impressed by him.The show was constantly revolving around Aneek - only Mauli got the same attention while she was around.
Amanat found himself to be in bottom three multiple times and was lucky to have survived on each occasion
2. Aneek got votes from all over India and abroad.Inspite of Amanat bagging almost all the muslim votes from abroad, Aneek came second in terms of international votings, which proves that his appeal goes beyond any ethnic or regional boundary quite unlike amanat ali.
3. Aneek will get a lot of offers from Bollywood since all are waiting with baited breath for his solo album which I am sure Zee will put all their resources on to.Right now he is contract bound and can not take independent offers but they will simply pour in sooner or later.
Amanat on the other hand will fade away.He is a gifted ghazal type singer but not quite playback material.ID tried to cajole him in to one but did not succeed. He lacks expression, has a terrible accent while singing hindi songs. He is also not exactly a hearthrob and historically it hasn't happened so far that someone from pakistan had become the leading name in India like Rafi Saab or Kishore - so the odds are against him too.
I am not against amanat and wish him well, besides I do not want to hurt anyone.Just wanted to simply express my thoughts.
