Well, let me chime in as we approach the finals of this great entertainment show. In my opinion this SRGMP challenge tops previous years by a wide margin. Aneek,Raja,Amanat are sick singers. Sick, as in , amazing breathetaking singers, beyond words (just some american lingo..)
Aneek and Raja are very good talented singers and ready for Bollywood w/ their catchy style and stage presence. they deserve their respect and due.
Amanat on the other hand is a gifted singer with incredible range and emotion who can rock a sufi ghazal to pop filmi songs. That is a main difference.I think most of you would agree with this point.
I try to be impartial as much as I can, but here's the bottom line.
Last year i went to see Sonu Nigam here in Washington DC and paid $200.00 for his tickets. Would I spend $200.00 dollars to see Amanat sing live in a concert or Raja? I would go see Amanat without any hestitation. Why? His live performances are just spectacular. Jagjit Singh, the famed ghazal, singer declared him miles ahead of the competition and I think Amanat is miles ahead as well, as they Shekar and other guests on the show. It's become very clear Amanat is the most versitale singer of the three. Best peformer is Raja..hands down.. Aneek was awesome in earlier rounds, but Raja really stepped up and has performend brillantly.
But in this TV style format of SRGMP, the viewers (at least majority of them) are focused on catchy bollywoood numbers and less on the classics. Taking nothing away from Raja or Aneek, I like both of them, and honestly i think Raja will become the winner w/ the way voting is going and fan appeal from his home state.
Amanat has clearly won the hearts of indians and people worldwide, and will be a busy playback singer in bollywood. There should not be any discussion of indian vs. pakistani, because as a pakistani myself, i am very happy SRGMP gave singers from each part of the world to shine and showcase their talent.
Junaid is now in mumbai recording w/ Vishal/Shekar, and Mussurat is likely to follow as well. The indian film music industry is not a biased group of people. Trust me. Singers like Atif Aslam, Strings, Adnan Sami, Nusrat FAK, Rahat Fatah Ali khan have been quite successful in bollywood because they are talented and Indian music directors recognized their talent. Simple fact. Pakistan singers will never be as popular or financially successful back in Pakistan simply because their talent isn't appeciated as indians appreciate good music.
Ismail saab did indeed find a diamond in amanat. I think this diamond will shine brightly in mumbai and give us fans many years of hits..inshallah..
