I think it would have been nice to have a combined Khayyam cum Rajesh Roshan round so that they maha gurus could have heard contestants singing songs made by them (or is it coming up next week? Singapore is one week behind).

Also, I think Khayyan Saab and RR are too well-mannered and tehzeeb waaley log to criticize someone in an open gathering.

how many of the singers have learnt their singing from MDs..wont they go to some ustad or pandit for their lessons.then these learned singers cannot judge anybody's singing?!!!is that what the debate is about?

Yes thats right Not only Khayyam Saab even other Mahaguru's also do not give their remarks on singing of the contestant. Only Asha-Tai used to scrutinise the singing in depth. Rajesh Roshan also doesnt say much. HR used to be hyperbolic but now is silent. ID joined by critising Khayyam and VS too have been at loggerheads with differing opinion. Only Bappi-Da is silent one. May be he too will break the silence.

There is no point debating whether MDs can be good or bad judges. It is a reality that MDs only judge singers and decide which singers suit what best.

It is also a delusion to think the music contest are places for learning. They already have learnt the basic minimum under some ustad/guru otherwise they would not have passed the audition.
