While it is imminent that numerous Pakistani artists are making their mark in India, now a composer from India has given music for his first ever Pakistani film. Debojyoti Mishra, who has composed music for films like 'Raincoat' and recently for Bina Talwar's 'Dharma' is thrilled to bits at the opportunity that came to him. He says, "This Pakistani film, 'Ramchand Pakistani' is directed by Mehreen Jabbar. She heard one of my songs from 'Raincoat' and got in touch with Shubha (Mudgal) for me. That's how I ended up making music for this film." Mishra asked Shubha to sing a song for the film for which she readily agreed. "I have also made Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali to sing for the film. I think I am the first composer from India to have composed music for a Pakistani film," he says proudly. Debojyoti spent about nine days in Pakistan of which he carries fond memories. "I loved being there. The people are so warm and receptive," he adds.
