This will probably be the first time in the world that a music video is being made for a quiz show. But then the quiz show is unusual and so is its host. A three-minute video picturised on Shah Rukh Khan for KBC will premiere on STAR Plus on January 22, 9 pm just before KBC starts. The video has been conceptualised, choreographed, directed and sung by Ganesh Hegde. The music is by Vishal-Shekhar and lyrics have been penned by Shabbir, RD Telang, Kumar & Asif Baig. The 10-15 secs teasers of the music video are already on air. Talking about the video, Ganesh Hegde, who has choreographed the title track of Don, says, "SRK had told me he had never looked that different as he did in the song and he wanted the video also to be unlike anything that he has done before." It was SRK's idea to come up with a video for the show and Ganesh developed it further and ended up directing and choreographing as well. In fact, he's even sung the track. "Actually mine was supposed to be the dummy voice, just for a reference. But Vishal-Shekhar liked it and retained my voice." Adds Vishal, "We were thinking of getting professional singers but when we heard his voice, we found it different and went ahead with it." Alongwith Ganesh, even SRK has lent his voice. "He has rapped a few words himself," informs Vishal. Titled 'Kar le kar le tu aek sawal ...', the song, according to Vishal, has an unique structure. "It's not a conventional situation. Everything about it is unusual including the fact that four lyricists have penned it. That's what makes it special," says Vishal who alongwith Shekhar has come up with a cool, young and "hopefully catchy number". The initial lines, he reveals, were written by him after which the lyricists took over. "But it didn't long to compose because everything was well-thought out by SRK including the kind of sound he wanted and what it should convey," says the composer.
The track is based on the concept that a few questions can change the direction of one's life. Shot over four days in Filmcity and Filmistan, Ganesh claims to have created a unique set with spectacular pyrotechnics. Even SRK has been given a hip-hop look and feel to lure the Gen Next to the show.
