Rimmesh Reshammiya?

Musical hit Himesh Reshammiya will soon have some sort of competition — from a man who looks and sounds like him.

Rimmesh Raja is set to launch his first music album called Dhua, which is being recorded in a studio in Mumbai and will be engineered in London.

Another music video costing Rs 20 lakh will come out after the mixing of this track is complete.

The 29-year-old Rimmesh aka Raja Gulder said he is a classical singer from West Bengal and has been performing in overseas concerts for 12 years. He realised he looked like Reshammiya when he grew his beard and sang the music director-turned singer's songs on stage.

"Some people who came in late for the show thought I was Reshammiya and chased me for autographs. I have always worn a cap and I too have a nasal voice, which matches Himmesh's," says Raja. He added, "I was shocked when I heard the budget of the album (produced by a Jaipur-based businessman), which is close to Reshammiya's earlier films and albums."

Dhua has eight tracks all sung by Raja and composed by Hanif Sheikh.
