One of the most talented music composers, Hridayanath Mangeshkar will turn 70 on October 26. A grand birthday celebration has been planned by Hridayesh Arts on this occasion at Shanmukhananda Hall.
Scion of the Mangeshkar family, Hridayanth's repertoire includes music compositions for films as well as devotional songs and Marathi bhakti geet. His prodigious output has regaled music-lovers for well over four decades. Most of Hridaynath's compositions have been sung by his sisters Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle. In fact, Hridaynath himself is a singer with a sensitive approach to poetry.
Lata Mangeshkar and other family members will be present on the dais. On his birthday, the composer will be felicitated by veteran actor Sulochana who is one of the contenders for this year's Dadasaheb Phalke award. Urmila Matondkar and economist and writer Dr Narendra Jadhav will be the guests of honour.
Several Marathi and Hindi songs composed by Hridayanath will be sung at the event by singers including Shaan, Sadhana Sargam, Bappi Lahiri, Arun Date, Ravindra Sathe, Padmaja Phenani, Bela Shende, Aarti Ankalikar and Radha Mangeshkar. Hridayanath will also sing some of his favourite songs.
