Himesh Reshammiya

Aap ka ghurroor?

Did Himesh Reshammiya anticipate the kind of response his winning of awards for the Best Singer would generate? Does he feel that the other singers are jealous of his success? Is that the reason why he played defensive while receiving the awards? At the Zee Cine Awards he went onstage to say, "Hope this proves a point. I'll be even better next year." Earlier at the MTV Awards, when he got two awards for Best Singer and Best Music, he shot off, "Yeh awards maine kharide nahin hai!" He also won the Best Singer award at the Filmfare Awards and Best Singer and New Talent at the Stardust Awards. Quite a handful! But poor Himesh is being accused of being arrogant and bitter, though he defends himself: "I am not good at humour; or maybe my straight-faced look makes people think it's attitude." Did you know Himesh is a trained classical singer, after all?

Thanks for visiting the thread.!!!! If you would like to bash him make sure you justify your reason also then say good side of him too. Like as you also have in life is all about good, bad and sometimes also the ugly.We all have to accept that. We all are Human.

Good point - very true....😛

To add further...its great to have a platform where we can speak our mind in a decent way without personally bashing the subject or each other. Criticising a person with the aim of bashing a person is not right. But also sweet talking a person is also not right. I think the key is balance. We all have good and bad within us. Sometimes, our bad streches to ugly too. I dont think any person is free of this.

badibanga,

Thanks, Key to this virtual relationship is to justify your point and then only we can have a balanced argument and yes you are right our bad stretches to ugly too. No one I think is free of this. Thanks again.!!!!!!

I agree with you. He fought hard to stay in the industry, perhaps it is that attitude that got him the success he enjoys today. He is definitely not a 'great singer' by indian standards, and personally, I don't enjoy his singing. But there are many other singers whom I don't enjoy listening to either. There seem to be plenty who enjoy his music and singing and that's perfectly fine.

There is enough room for all kinds of music in this industry and all of us certainly have enough to choose from. We can choose to listen to what we like and not listen to what we don't like, at the same time, respect what others like and dislike.

svm73 ji,

Himesh Reshammiya constant success has become pain in a** for his competitors. Now he is being targeted by many and some of his colleagues in the music industry have backlash at him. He was also accused of plagiarism by some. But Himesh remains unperturbed by all that.

Himesh said, "I am neither hurt nor disturbed by the occasional backbiting and criticism, from some of my colleagues. By and large, the music industry has been very supportive towards my success. It is just that some people are a bit surprised by the fact that a music director who is also a singer, has walked away with all the success."

He added, "It is probably for the first time in the music industry that a music director has also been awarded for singing but it is not as if I am a singer by fluke. I have trained in classical music from my father for several years before I got the desired effect in my voice."

"Of the many songs that I have recorded so far, whether it is for my album, 'Aap Ka Suroor' or film music, there's not a single song that hasn't topped the charts. 'Aksar' is my 28th album and the acceptance has been phenomenal so far," Reshammiya defends his success.

Recently he was called unethical by Anu Malik who refused to share the credit with him, for a T-series production, 'Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye'. Reshammiya was totally taken aback by Malik outrage. "It came as a big surprise to me since I had sought a no objection from Malik before proceeding to record for the film. It was only after the producer, Bhushan Kumar got it in writing that I recorded the song," Reshammiya explained.

In another instance, singer Sonu Nigam recently expressed his reservations about Reshammiya sweeping away the awards for the best singer. Even then also Reshammiya dismissed this off with a smile, "I respect Sonu for his great singing prowess and I'd be happy if he walks away with all the awards for the best singer. I can't help it if the audiences go ahead and make my songs a hit or the juries unanimously vote me as the best singer".
