Dear Anu,
You are passing through that phase of life where you need to know the meaning of clichd phrases like infatuation ,love etc. As your elder brother I should make sure you make the right choices when you cross this path. However, having said that I wish I knew what they truly mean.
Infatuation is something when you just keep going ooh & aah on a cute guy..could be Rajeev Khandelwaal , vinit or the guy next door or the videostore wala. Typically in the case of infatuation, looks is the most important factor followed by talent. It is a feeling of being there for this person to see him, hear him and talk to him, and dream of him. But this is a transient phase, it goes off when the next target comes into scene. Ek dum hawa ka jhoka…
Now what is love??? Who knows…we could have asked Laila- Majnu, Heer-Ranjha lekin they left before they could explain what it is..and I met another couple who fell in love , fought with the families got married and declared without each other they could not survive and are now married for 4 years. When I asked them what was love.. the man said "A royal pain" and the wife said.. "go to hell" !!!! So from these dialogs I gathered Love is a very intense emotion .Starts off very dreamy but if not nurtured properly can turn to a nightmare. Love is a mirage.a feeling of being almost there and belonging.. and in the process of finding it one keeps chasing it., but when you reach there.. its goes a little far way..
The day you meet someone, who you see with open eyes, shut eyes,in books,in classes and in everything that you are doing..you put your feminist views in a backburner just to please the guy and not feel like leading a protest march.. you will know sis you have been had..hook line and sinker…madly in love..
I hope it makes sense to you. While writing it did not make any sense to me...
Cheers.
Adi.
