Tellywood court martials Rakhi

She's done it once again! Item girl Rakhi Sawant has constantly been feeding the media with juicy stories. This time she filed a molestation case against pop-singer Mika, who supposedly kissed her without her consent. So was this a disgracing publicity stunt put forward by the item girl herself or was she poor target of the singer's demeaning conduct?

Riya V Anandwala goes around asking our telly stars about their first reaction when they learnt about this episode.

Keerti Kelkar

Keerti Kelkar- " The issue didn't interest me one bit!"

My first reaction - 'crap'. I saw their pictures flashed across the broadsheet newspapers and tabloids, but that didn't interest me one bit. I can't relate to this incident at all. Whatever happened between the two had nothing to do with Rakhi's on-screen image, her presence at Mika's party proved that they knew each other off screen!

Kiran Kumar

Kiran Kumar- "A man should never cross his limit, but if..."

What is all this nonsense about??? A big deal is being made about this incident. I won't ever allow some one to smack cake on my face if I don't that person well! A man should never cross his boundary, until and unless a woman is okay with it. So, I wouldn't term it as a publicity stunt, but something which was very normal but was certainly blown out of proportion.

Mona Singh

Mona Singh- " Who is to be blamed for this"

I was disgusted! I have a question to all the news channels- don't they have something better to report other than who kissed whom? A girl like Rakhi Sawant who was throwing herself on Mika is now making an issue out of the whole thing. I am very sure her on-screen image is affecting her image off-screen, but who is to be blamed for this?

Kanchi Kaul

Kanchi Kaul-"She is in a dilemma even if she is right!"

What the hell was that? I really don't know what to say. I didn't dig into the issue as it didn't interest me even a percent. Even if she is on the right track the audience will never believe her and that is because of the image she portrays on celluloid. When you're a public figure, you have to be extremely careful about these things, as you can't give justifications all your life!

Gajjendra Singh

Gajendrra Singh- "It was extremely sad!"

Where are we heading as a society with such sleazy things happening around? I am speechless; I seriously don't know how to react to such a thing. If at all it was a publicity stunt then I must admit, was extremely sad. I don't think that someone's on-screen image can affect someone's personal life! One is supposed to be very careful with the way they conduct!

Doesnt Gajji think it is sleazy to talk about fake love affairs of 17 year old participants, contestants wearing skimpy dresses on a singing show hugging, arm in arm and what notin the name of performance. Yeah, heis the one to preach! what irony

Sorry I am exaggerating, but I have not seen a bigger hyprocite in all my life than Mr. Gajendra Singh.

What are you telling us Mr. Singh?---Where are we heading with such sleazy things happening in society?

What about all the sleaze that you introduced in such a reverred show as SRGPM? Have you forgotten that all the stalwarts that graced the show appreciated it as the one that upheld the Indian culture and values, while other shows were showing all kinds of things in the name of music? What was the need for you to bring in a "love story" of 17 year boy who just wanted to be a singer? What was the need for you present 17-20 old girls in skin-tight, bare-shoulder, hip-hugging dresses that they (well, most of them) did not look comfortable in? What was the need for you to put all that greese into the participants hair and make them look very un-natural? What was the need for you to add "chemistry" factor in your show and make the kids of impressionable age hold their hands, look into each other's eyes and dance around?

So let me ask you Mr. Singh-- Where are we heading with such sleazy things happening in show?

What more are you telling us Mr. Singh?-- If at all it was a publicity stunt then I must admit, I was extremely sad.

Well, what about the publicity stunt that you started since the agnipariksha round of C2005. Things were OK till then. And then you wanted teeny boopers to get hooked to your show and waste their parents money on SMS. To get them hooked to the show you introduced all kinds of things -- fancy dresses, fancy hair, stage shows and what not.

So let me tell you Mr. Singh -- If this was all done for publicity and money, then I must admit that I am extremely sad.

And what else Mr. Singh? -- One is supposed to be very careful with the way they conduct!

Well, Mr. Singh, you need to be very careful with what you say. What you say and how you conduct yourself does not seem to match.

I think all of you are being a bit too harsh on Gajji here, by comparing the dresses and dances on the show to Rakhi Sawant's drunken smooch.

Gajji doesn't make them wear anything that's comparable to the dresses we see Rakhi wearing in those music videos. Western dresses are a common part of cosmopolitan Indian life today. As far as dresses are concerned, the show has alternated between wearing western wear and traditional wear like saris. The only possible under-dressing would be Twinkle wearing a micro-mini skirt, but I'm sure that was her own preference and she felt comfortable in it. Nobody else wore anything garish or explicit, and they wouldn't wear anything they weren't comfortable in. Same for the hairstyles and grease.

As far as dancing is concerned, that may be unnecessary, but it's not explicit. There has been nothing shown on the show that would be unacceptable on national TV. We see worse stuff on so-called family-oriented saas-bahu shows.

Give him a break!
