India votes out Prajakta/Hrishikesh

The only jodi in the true sense of the word from among the other participants in Ek Main Aur Ek Tu, the wild card entry couple from Pune, Prajakta/Hrishikesh receive the lowest number of votes from viewers in India and return back home. After being ranked third by Hariharan and Leslie Lewis for their performance and EMET magic last Friday, India failed to respond to them in a similar manner.

Babul Supriyo with Prajakta and Hrishikesh

India has voted again to record new high with majority jodis getting over 3 lakh votes. And, it's a whole new countdown. Rajeev/Sanchali got 3,74,140 votes, Sharib/Banjyotsna got 3,42,521 votes, Ujjaini/Aishwarya got 3,32,144 votes Twinkle/Vishwas got 2,96,940 votes and Prajakta/ Hrishikesh got 2,79,185 votes.

That they have been the borderline couple was bothering Hrishikesh and he had even voiced aloud few weeks ago that it would be better to be voted out than not be appreciated by the masses. That Prajakta has lots to improve on was visible in the Thursday episode, but Hrishikesh was proving that he is capable of singing well. But, in this format it is the magical combination in performance and chemistry of both partners that will make them rock as a jodi.

The duo break down as the results are announced

The judges withheld their second veto vote saying they would keep it for later. Hariharan says, "Both have lost narrowly but the circumstances we used our first veto vote was different. SMSs from Bangalore had not reached due to curfew so voting out Sinchan/Irfan in that episode was not right." Added Leslie, "It is sad to see Prajakta/Hrishikesh go as they have come along way from starting out as an awkward couple."

Revealing plans of settling down in Mumbai to pursue their singing career, Hrishikesh said, "We return home with lots of love that we have received from all associated with the show and wish to thank the entire team who worked on us and gave us tips. We have learnt a lot of things and will continue to do riyaaz. Though out of the show now, we will progress from being beyond merely singers."

The theme is comedy songs and woven around this theme are anecdotes of antics that the jodis indulged in as kids. That these young talented singers have a naughty streak and their embarrassment at it being revealed on the show adds a fun element to the show and breaks the monotony and stress of the jodis performing and then being told what their rankings are.

The duo are consoled by the other contestants as they fail to hold back tears

That these five remaining jodis are performing better each week is beyond doubt and India is going to have a hard task at deciding who will win the 50 lakh contract. Ujjaini/Aishwaya sing Apun Bola, Twinkle/Vishwas sing Kem Cho, Prajakta/Hrishikesh sing Ankhiyo Se Goli Mare, Sanchali/Rajeev sing Kissi Disco and Banjyotsna/Sharib sing Love Ke Liye.

Wishing Prajakta/Hrishikesh luck, Babul put it aptly saying, "This loss here maybe the winning turning point in your life." Twinkle/Vishwas will be performing in Pune, having received the least votes from there. And, Prajakta/ Hrishikesh take leave from the show singing Har Ghadi Badal Rahee Hain."

Babul Supriyo is surprise guest on Ek Main Aur Ek Tu

The singing voice behind heartthrob Hrithik Roshan is the surprise guest on the elimination episode this Thursday of Ek Main Aur Ek Tu. With the Groovy Gurus breaking norms last week and allowing the jodis to perform first before announcing the results, Shaan brings in singer Babul Supriyo towards the end of the show to announce the results.

Babul Supriyo with Shaan and Ishita

Ek Main Aur Ek Tu pays tribute to one of Bollywood's legendary composer Naushad Ali. Ishitta begins today's elimination episode saying a few lines that Naushad had penned just before he died last week.

In an episode that starts with Shaan handing over a set of envelopes to the judges saying the jodis performed better last week knowing the results at the end. The hosts Shaan and Ishitta wanted the same format to continue this time too. But, the judges decided to bowl a 'new age googly' by deciding to reveal all results first.

Only, they were stumped instead as Shaan had given them the wrong set of envelopes. The participants had confided all their naughty childhood pranks that they had indulged to Shaan. And, it was now with the judges who go on to reveal to India the fun, naughty side of each participant.

As suspense builds up on who is going to be eliminated, the format veers to comedy to reduce the stress for the participants. The Groovy Gurus, Hariharan and Leslie Lewis set the pace in this episode and ask the jodis to perform as per the judges rankings received last week. After their performance, each is asked to reveal any childhood antic and watching their embarrassed faces as the Groovy Gurus spill it all takes away the tension of performing resulting in the jodis belt out their songs to perfection.

Babul goes overboard as he appears at the end with the results and sings away as he hands over India's decision to the jodis. Maybe, he was trying to let the world know that he will make a good host or maybe, he was just happy to be part of this music talent hunt show. Either which way, the jodis benefitted as they got a chance to hear another talented singer from the industry.

Then BS should have been eliminated long time back because Sharib has not been performing so well and less said the better about singing (???) capabilities of Banjo.

Similarly RS should have been out after Rajeev made mistakes that were forgiven. Another example that audience vote is not the best way to judge.

I hope Hrishikesh gets to sing for some movies. He is really a talented singer. Sad to see them out, but glad that they won't have to perform with awkwardness anymore.

Hope EMAET gave him good publicity and exposure to get singing offers.

Hope UA, who are the next best jodi, stay till the last round. Otherwise EMAET will be as disappointing as C-05, with talented singers voted out and average singers figting for the title.

Going by the trend looks like RS and BS will be in the finals.😡
