A Silly end of a Great Idea : Sa Re Ga...

Hi All,

All those who have been following Sa Re Ga Ma Pa would surely agree that it was a most disappointing end to an otherwise great concept. Goes to show how reckless we as citizens can get with democracy , that is through the power of voting. The last two rounds have been truly disappointing, where we saw the ascedancy of mediocracy backed by fierce regional considerations over meritocracy : or else how does one describe the loss of the immensely talented Vinit to a below average performer ! And let's not forget the elimination of Hem in the previous round as well. If this is not stupid politics, what is ?
And we blame our politicians for all the ill surrounding us ! If we as citizens donot be responsible with our democratic rights and powers - GOD save this GREAT DEMOCRACY!

And I hope ZEE TV (C/O Mr Gajendra Singh of Sa Re Ga Ma) will make efforts to plug this loophole in the next edition - great effort otherwise !

We can watch those episodes any number of times
People who doesn't know SRGMP before are watching now because it is making them cry on their first encounter itself .It also has some best hilarious moments also.

I agree with you,Gajji should care of the show such that injustice happend to good candidates shouldn't happen again

No matter who won, someone would complain. That is a pitfall of public
voting. While i did not like the way public voting played out I will say that all
of the contestants (even the people who did not make it to the final 12) got
a lot of exposure and that can only help their careeres.

Additionally, even though I don't care for public voting myself, it did give
people a reason to invest in these singers and their dreams. So maybe some
careers will benefit from that.

Question: "If this is not stupid politics, what is?"

Answer: Topi, pyaar, desh, investment, contestants walkout (whoever orchestrated it - it was a game of politics) and on and on and on. No wonder the naive public (or at least a certain sector of the public) was swayed by all this non-sense and hence rendered the final so one sided, i.e. a competition between a genuine singer (debo) and well, the less said the better (vinit).

seriously, public voting should be stopped to prevent a singing competition from degenerating into a "topi" competition.

Public voting has helped not only debo but all the 12 contestants...... Normally only winner of saregamapa gets the exposure to bollywood...
But now there is multiple effect..... many of the final twelve are getting the offers to sing.....
Public voting has goods and bads....
