my journey with sa re ga ma pa

I have been through soooo much with Saregamapa this last yr that I decided I would share all my feelings and then leave for good.

I am a typical american bred girl but what kept me close to my culture was Indian Music, Dance and the food. In our house my father had all the greats playing all the time, rafi, hemant kumar, kishoreda, etc.

When my friend would say , " Shah rukh khan sang that song" I would laugh and say , "It was Udit Narayan!" Music, singers, composers, lyricists all were given a back seat when they deserved more.

I was soo excited by Saregamapa and love it. I love both sonu nigam and shaan for being awsome hosts and singers as well!!!!! So I would watch it religiously to see all the new awsome talents.

When I started seeing this competition I loved Vinit right away and somehow his voice had the passion and "dard" that made me go, Wow! When everyone gave him greens and 10's, I thought , " he is the best" But, when I came to this forum, I was shocked to see soo much hatred towards Vinit and Himmeshji and support for debo. First I thought like other Vinit fans that Debo is getting support because of his back ground. But, I realize I was wrong and many singers touched different people. I still mantain that Vinit is my favourite, but I realized then that they are all awsome because they touched many people's heart. The thing that become apparent is that this is a WIN for MUSIC!!!!!

All 12 are winners and I congratulate the top five Debo- (for being soft and melodious) , Vinit ( for singing with your spirit, my true rock star and awsome in every sense of the word-perfect), Hemachandra ( for bringing your originality to every song u sang and definitely pleasant to look at), Himani (for singing with your spirit and having an awsome cool voice), and Nihara ( for singing like an angel)!!!!!!!

This is a Win for Music!!!! Now we all know that this is not a Shah rukh song, Amir, etc song. There are some really talented people behind those beautiful actors.

Vinit, I wish I could give you a Jaadu ki Jupi. Your still a winner for me😊

It is amazing to see NRIs (esp young) keep alive Indian culture in foreign lands. Lekin yahan ke youngsters (I must clarify that I am a youngster myself 😆 ) to western cheezon ke peechhe itna paagal hain.
