Rajeev's RANG DE BASANTI

i thought Rajeev did not belong in the top 12 and never thought too highly of his talent or singing abilities. AS campaigning for the cook with the new look annoyed me as i thought he was no where close to the rest of the bunch.

but after today's rocking rang de basanti i was completely shocked! must admit, i was mighty impressed👏👏👏. never thought rajeev could do that. now i don't know if it is just me or was he really awesome? am ithis overwhelmed because i underestimated him or did he really do justice to a not so easy song? were you guys as impressed as i was?

Rajiv did indeed sing Rang De Basanti very well. However, I thought he, at times, overshadowed Swananda. This was not merely a problem of one having a stronger voice - I don't think he had enough/proper control over his voice to moderate and play to her pitch and volume.

Speaking of Swananda - I don't think I've ever seen her look so young, fresh, happy and lively before. There is a transformation within her and it glowed through. Good for her! May she go far in life. (Of course, the first thought that crossed my mind when I first saw her on stage was our thread and the song attributed to her ... "mujhe budha mil gaya.." 😆).

Both did a great job overall.

mujhe buda milgaya 😆 i agree with u. the pairing also was wrong i think cuz swananda's voice is very soft and u know how RDB is. i thought even hema and himani was not the best pairing but they both looked kool together.

actually all 10 of them did a commendable job and iwas proud of all of them. 👏 best wishes of all especially my sweetheart chandu 😳

u kno after watching that performance, i HAD to just watch his DCH performance just to see hte difference and man he doesnt even luk like hte same person !! he was just HOTTTTTTTTTTT yesteday...

initially when i heard it was hema himani i was upset coz i was hopin he wuld do some classical thingie with nihira, but he n himani luked great together..he over shadowed her completely !! ppl were cheering more for them than for any other performance in the evening!

anyways before this becomes a hema praisin post.. i must admit i was VERY impressed with rajiv.. i never really liked him too..but he did a great job with tat song showing that he truly deserved to be in top 12.. i just wished swananda wuld dance a bit more..she never luks like she is enjoyin her performance..she is enjoyin the song..but not the performance.. i remember her kajra re..she was SOOO stiff.. i am liek WOMAN U SING WELL MOVE URSELF A BIT !! atleast nihira trys !!! Swananda reminded me of chitra yesterday, i dunno y !!

honestyl the performance by top 10 was the best thing abotu the finals i think it over shadowed the finalists performances by a tad bit...

I lOVED TWINKLE AND PREAHS'S PEROFRMNACE...THEY BOTH WERE AWESOME AND TWINLE IS INDEED A WONDERFUL PERFORMER AND SHE SANG VERY WELL .....IN THE SENSE THAT I THOUGHT WAS THOROUGHLY ENTERTAINING 👏

I LOVED HEMA'S PERFORMANCE TOO AND HE COMPLETELY OVERSHADOWED HIMANI ...HE WAS BRILLIANT AND HE SHOWS SO MUCH CONFIDENCE ON STAGE WHICH HELPS HIS PERFORMANCE 👏

LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST..I ENJOYED DEBO AND NIHIRA'S "AAO NA" ,PERFORMANCE,,....AT THAT TIMEA LL THE SONGS WERE HIP-HOP AND LOUD AND THESE TWO JUST SANG SO BEAUTIFULLY AND THEOR VOICES COMPLEMENTED EACH OTHER SO WELL AND WERE VERY NICE TO HEAR 👏

I agree!! and a paresh lover was happy!! and Rajeev suprised me and I was like WOW!! I too underestimated him and made jokes yet was very proud. I enjoyed the top 10 they all worked hard on singing well!!!!kudos to them!!!!!!

Was very impressed with Rajeev. Swananda sounded ok though hard to
hear. Hema and Himani not a good match of voices. Not sure about that
odd choice of song for Raktima and Ujjaini. All others good combo.

I know that Rajeev was a disappointment to many but yesterday I saw flashes
of the guy who sang Yaar Ko Maine to a unanimous ovation from the
mentors.

With some training, I feel like he could be one of our great singers.

I agree, I was impressed with him too! The other performance of his I liked was the one from Sanjay Leela Bansali's episode 'Parbat...'

I guess certain songs suit his voice and range better. Song selection is REALLY key for all singers.

I think Nihira's song selections could've been better too. Though she sang them wonderfully, I felt that only a couple actually brought her beautiful voice/singing out. This may be why she didn't get as many votes as she obviously deserved.
