I say our opinion on music is purely SUBJECTIVE. "Subjective" means anything that is based purely on your own feelings and opinion. Taste is often a subjective matter: I may like music or a particular singer and you don't like and vice versa. There's no right or wrong in subjectivity. So some of you like Debu & some of you like Vinit. Now what is the problem.......why so much tension here. Just keep voting for your favorite. Of course, if someone from IF expects you to side with his or her fav and sends a goon squad behind you then report😉😆. Otherwise take a chill pill & keep promoting your fav. Let others bake roast grill & fry our fav & we can do the same in a civilized manner to their fav. And please don't take disagreement to be a fight!😃
This is a discussion forum, if I am not mistaken, and in a discussion there are usually different views. Mine is different from Xyz's and his/her different from mine, and we are entitled to that difference of opinion. But why force anybody to change his or her siggy or opinion. This is not a pulpit from where one of us can preach and others nod our heads in agreement. Most of us here are fans, rather than critics, music buffs rather than maestros. Let's remain those, and respect other's tastes and make this a rocking forum before the grand finale on 24th.
Let us drop this arrogant cynicism and acrimonious attitude which is very hip & marketable these days in the sets of Sa re ga ma pa😛😉!

Hi DF, Thanks for replying. I guess, all the objective people did not like this subjective statement! See Gajji knows what sells 😉 so always creates drama on the sets of Sa re ga ma pa. Art needs diversity, tolerance, debate and criticism to live !😉 😆 Next time will keep this in mind & post here. 😃

You may be right in a philosophical way, but does that mean anyone who participates can feel that he sings well.
I dontknow how familiar you are with American Idol, William Hung was one of the contestants on that, who sang so badly, but it was marketed and he made an album. Now how does that fit in good music? I can understand that people like different kinds of music, but theyshould be pleasing to hear, and ofcourse when it is acontest, obviously you want the best to win, otherwise what is the need for a competition.
I am a carnatic singer, but I dont necessarily like all carnatic singers and why is it that few are more popular. There is a certain aspect that touches your heart which does not happen with every singer and we expect them to do something different andmore than what an average person can sing or do.. So when majority of publiclike it they become famous. But that has not been in the case of recent reality music shows. It is a lot of drama, hype and not a real talent show, but just entertainment. Thats my thought

👏

You are right and actually there might be a difference in opinion about Debo's and Vinit's singing or infact any of the SRGMP singers because they are all good singers.

To autmother: In the same way I wonder how can people like Qazi and Ravi???? 😕 Anyone with music sense can say that their singing ability is the lowest among others.

The moment you say music is subjective, just goes to show you dont know the ABC of music.

Either you sing it right or wrong, and therez no 2 ways about it.

VINIT is a better singer than Debo in all aspects ..and this statement is an OBJECTIVE statement without imposing it on anyone else. Afterall, I cant impose my OBJECTIVITY on a SUBJECTIVE person, a futile excercise as was on FG. 🤢

WoW Sunsha the great or shd I say Shenshah of music🤢 Rocking Gurudev😉😆 Again your opinions are stated as facts! So you are accusing me of being "soulless droids" or whatever. Agreed, I may not be a perfect spectrum analyzers or may not have "golden ears" like you but I am a music lover/ buff & will remain that all my life. There is no aesthetic judgement which can make a rightful claim on everyone's assent.

Looks like you intend to remove all possible bias from human subjective judgements and opinions😉. The brain has two sides, intuitive/emotional (right brain) and logical/rational (left brain) and I think that you are paying far too much emphasis to the "left brain". And balancing things out a little won't cause an instant, irrevocable descent into subjectivity, either. 😃

Active listening to music is a multi-dimensional experience of the music involving the subjective and objective thought processes of an individual interacting with the physical experience of the music itself!😃
I'll keep Debu & Vinit out of this subjective objective debate. In Fg you wanted to meet serial buff rather than putting your opinion in black & white so the problen started.😉
Friends, just remember: what is important is to listen. Understanding is vastly over-rated!😆 My subjective 5 cents.
