Its no use now yapping dat,
himani isn't half as gud as nihira
himani is not even near to her.
When ur time had come to vote for nihira u all were sitting ducks.

Dear Mumbaikar,

first of all DO NOT DO NOT compare Nihira with Himani.. there is no comparison...
second off all you haven't heard SRGMP if Nihira's
"Chalka Chalka re", "Pyar Huwa Chup ke se", "Rangeela re", "5 rupaiya bara anna", "Aaeeye Meheraba", "Sathi re"

Pl. listen to them... you'll forget the world.....

i think himani rocks!
she puts a feel in the song that she sings!
but u cant compare nihira and himani they r soooooo dif!
nihira has a feminine voice while himanis is more of a deep melodious one!!!
it just depends on your choice!
but for me HIMANI ROCKS!!!!!!

We all will fight over the matter, get bored, moderators will close the topic and we all will start quarrelling on some new controversial topic. In the menatime both Himani & Nihira will continue with their quest for becoming a name to reckon with and who knows who will establish as what.

Personally I feel both of them are equally good and sorry to say there is no such thing as attitude or airs or a wallflower or whatever you may. Both have different tonal qualities and both of them are versatile. Who will be the eventual winner will not be decided by these factors but there will be factors other than these which will come into play.

One thing for sure....both are definitely better than the finalists we have in SRGMP.

Nope There is no debate.. NIHIRA IS THE BEST... OVER & OUT...

Nihira is a very nice girl but should have taken up this issue that regional voting has killed the show.

I see it that nihira and himani would have ended up as no 1 and No 2 in fair contest with learned judges present.

None of the boys are in the class of Himani and Nihira

I agree with u ritsrocks, except on couple of things. Himani always asked for NCR votes, so she was never the one to stop regional votes when they were going in her favor.

Nihira is way beyond all contestants. Though Hema & Sharib were better than Himani. Swananda, Vinit, Debo are atthe level of Himani.

And don't forget I Love You from Hare Rama Hare Krishna. That I think was the best performance by any SRGMP contestant ever.

The reason that Himani is being compared to Nihira is because luckily she was in the same contest with Nihira and was one of the last ones left.

Realistically Nihira is much better and way out of Himani's league!

Nihira should be compared to Shreya Ghoshal or Sunidi Chauhaan.

1. You are a mumbaikar and the theme of SRGMP 2005 is regionalism, If you have lived in Mumbai, you know besides Dadar, there is no other suburb with Marathi majority, so how do you expect Nihira to get most votes from Mumbai?

2. Well your choices can be different than mine,I loved Jiya dhadak by Himani, then I listened to RFAK, Himani was not even close on the feel, then I tried Chup Chupke, I loved Nihira's version over Sonu/Mahalaxmi Iyer version. Also try this play the kajra re song on video and play the vocals from Nihira, They fit like a glove(of course it is very difficult to hear the song when you have Aishwarya/ABX2 performing)

About the future, Himani has a different voice, normally you see it in Zhatka songs or sad songs or seductive songs(listen to her voice irrespective of the song and you will know what I mean), every movie has one of the 3 criteria songs.

Competition: Richa Sharma/Sunidhi/folk singers

Nihira has a sweet voice, Bollywood movies generally show the actresses with sweet/clear voices

Competion: Alkaji/Shreya

I think Nihira has a brighter future just b'cos of the fact that the Zhatka and folk songs are a trend and that would blow over as Himani gets a foothold into the industry and she is close to catching up Shreya and Alkaji might be expensive for a lot of Producers

Just my POV, you can have yours!

I see your point, however I'd not want to be so harsh on Himani just because her voice is different from the Lata, Asha, Usha genre. I think Himani can do equally great as a playback singer in movies, as she can with her own folk/sufi album. Just because her choice of songs in the contest was more inclined towards folk, I wouldn't want to brand her as a "punjabi singer".

As far as Nihira is concerned, I absolutely love her singing. She is the most flawless performer out there. She has the kind of potential to become the next legendary icon after Lata ji. Although her voice does not have that spice which would make it stand out from the rest of singers out there, I think she will do wonderfully well in Hindi/Marathi cinema, and other regional lannguages as well.
