Electoral Votes

I'm sure some members are probably familiar with the electoral voting system in the U.S. that decides who will be president. See there an an electoral college or wise council of electors. The council basically chooses the winning president for each state. They can choose to base their vote on the majority of public votes for that state or who they think will make the best president. So the presidental winner is really based on the majority of electoral votes they get from each state, not really from popular or public votes.

I think SRGMPA should do something similar. There should be a wise panel of judges. The judges can individually choose to take public opinon into account or who they personally thought gave the best performance. Then they can display their electoral votes for the two final winners. Ofcourse they can have electors or judges from different indian states but I think that will just get complicated and confusing.

so what are your thoughts on this alternative voting procedure?
