"I am leaving because of my prior movie commitments… unfortunately I would not be able to devote so much time to the show any longer," Purab said in a statement.

Purab's last appearance on the show will be on Friday's episode. He will be replaced by TV actor Manish Paul, who has earlier anchored "Dance India Dance L'il Masters".

Purab, whose popularity got a new high after "Rock On!!", says he is leaving the show with wonderful memories.

"It was a dream come true to be on the same platform which popularised people like Sonu Niigaam and Shaan. I'm thankful to the channel to have given me this wonderful opportunity even though I don't have any musical background. Hopefully, I will resume my role as an anchor in the next season of the show," he added.

Purab will soon be seen in Onir's "I Am".

I liked Purab Kohli. I thought he kept things short, sweet, and simple and stuck to the singing. Manish Paul seems over the top and annoying at times with his corny jokes and ridiculous antics. Or maybe I watched that episode when I was in bad mood or something ...

Purab isn't as bad as you all are making him out to be. I wish him the best in his future endeavors.
