V actress to star in Vikram Bhatt's Shaapith

Shweta Agarwal

Though there was buzz that Vikram Bhatt would cast his 1920 actress Adah Sharma for his next project Shaapith, he has now finalised Shweta Agarwal. The film has Aditya Narayan, son of singer Udit Narayan making his debut.

Shaapith is part of Bhatt's trilogy of horror flicks the earlier two being Raaz and 1920.

Shweta was seen on television as Niki in the Star Plus soap Dekho Magar Pyar Se. She has also done several ads and is best remembered for her Lux soap ad with Aishwarya Rai.

The actress has also featured in a Turkish film Miras as well as in Oliver Paulus' Tandoori Love, a Swiss-German production.

Says Shweta, "My secretary got in touch with Vikram Bhatt's office. It was the usual procedure of leaving pictures and getting a call from him."

About speculations that Adah would be in the project Bhatt says, "I had never said that she would be in Shaapith." B-Town buzz was that Aditya had reservations about Adah being cast opposite him.

Adds Bhatt, "We start shooting from February 15. Shaapith is an adventure film and there are a lot of scary, supernatural things that happen on the way.

It will be shot in Mumbai, Scotland and Rajasthan. The cast also includes Rahul Dev and Shubh Joshi, who is a winner of a reality show."
