I slept in and missed more than half of it 😛 but they've been pre-recording finale performances since 2005 so I'm not surprised

ok I saw bits of it...there was actually way more live singing this year compared to previous years

last year it was all prerecorded except Mussarat and the mentors...LC was all prerecorded except for the judges...C05 I dont remember anymore but it was also mostly prerecorded...I think this year had more live performances but then I haven't seen the whole thing

about original track...yes they use the original track if they can get it from the music company and then delete the layer that has the singer's voice in it...sometimes there are multiple layers which they don't fully delete so you can hear some vocals from the original...for example yesterday on Indian Idol Saurabhi sang "I love my India" and they played the original track so it still had Aditya Narayan's voice in it (which Remo lip synced to)

shankar was playbacking on desi girl, and that pratibha joined him was just to show her saari i think. i didnt heard her voice, it was the original one sunidhi.

I loved the grand finale ...loved the song choices ..and loved the result ..only hoping Soumen in 2nd position ..but ohh well ....as i watched the recorded one ..I didn't have to sit thru those irritating yudhviraam s......

Overall....happy ...as for lip sync ...that's a old story ..I got used to it by now ...but still I have a feeling the 2 songs sung each by Soumen and Vaishali were live as they were holding the microphones ....

I imagine it's probably hard to hear urself up there anyway. I mean with all the crazy fans and what-not, a microphone can only do so much. But I think they actually sung it themselves, had the glitches fixed, and then played it back. But I do think they'd tried to sing along with it, because you can hear them a little bit better in some places. You could even hear Shankar Mahadevan go a little off key, which he never does, so they kind of need it. Btw, Shankar, Aadesh, Soumen, and Vaishali looked like they were doing something that looked suspiciously like singing, because they were holding mikes, and they're voices...just sounded like they were live.
