He was so disgustingly partial in Idol. Good they did not hire him. See his reactions in Zee and watch how he reacts when Arunita sings Beeti Na Bitai Raina (on YT) in Idol.

I would love to see judges from reality shows (singing, dancing and got talent) of America and UK being judges in itv reality shows. Hell will break loose 😉

Singing - imagine Simon Cowell in Indian Idol and SRGMP. Most of the contestants would not go further than auditions and on top of that he would give them reality check.

On top of that as soon as 1st episode is aired, protests outside studio, and against Simon. 😆 For some reason itv prefers sobbing stories over talent

Dancing - itv judges going ga ga over circus, acrobats and gymnastics moves. How can Shilpa, Malaika judge dances when on screens they are dancing with help of choreographers. They are not dance teachers.

In itv dance shows - Imagine Craig Revel Horwood, Len Goodman, Arlene Phillips who are experts in real dance moves of Salsa, Tango, Cha Cha Cha, Foxtrot, Vieneze Waltz, Paso doble etc. To them what itv shows are airing is not dance

Got talent - again Shilpa and Malaika, Kjo etc. What do these people know??

@Kinu and @Sahil - am sure where you are from, there will be judges who will tell contestants at audition times what they think of their singing, dancing and talent. I know in America, Simon Cowell has been/is judge in American Idol, The X-Factor US and America Got Talent

I only started watching these reality singing shows recently (II12) , out of curiosity more than anything else. Must say I was very confused/surprised at how scripted it felt. Judges basically (told by channel???) just praise everyone 99% of the time, even guests do the same as well .

Have never seen other countries versions, but yeah I'd imagine like you say judges would tell contestants what they think of their singing, dancing and talent, Isn't that the whole point? . Not sure what the indian versions point really is? . Just another soap opera I guess.

This concept of judges largely doing as they are told is true everywhere. Even Simon Cowell has a role to play - and that is the role of the rude sourface. I have seen him from the very first and second season of American Idol - Kelly Clarkson and Ruben Studdard respectively as the winners.
