For the Satyajit Ray Qs. I was reading both their biographies. They were both rivals and criticised each others work. There is no reference to any movie of Mrinal Sen where Satyajit Ray is shown behind the camera.
Let me go thru each options for this qs.
option
1). Raat Bhore - This was Mrinal Sen's first film released about the same time as Satyajit Ray's Pather Panchali and Ray's film was a big success and Sen's film was a disaster - in his own words it was utter garbage. This has to be wrong answer
2) Bhuvan Shome - This is what Ray had to say about this film : "Big Bad Bureaucrat Reformed by Rustic Belle".
Sen's arguably best known, best-loved film Bhuvan Shome was dismissed summarily by Ray for its conventional wish fulfilment theme, "Big Bad Bureaucrat Reformed by Rustic Belle".
So, I don't think Satyajit Ray was shown in this film.
3) Baishey Shravana - The wedding family - Reading the brief description of the film it seems to me that Satyajit Ray couldnot have been in this film. This film ends in famine which led Sen to do the film Akaler Sandhaney - which is the last option here.
4) Aakaler Sandhane (correct spelling) - This film was a documentary.
Akaler Sandhane had a huge cast of professionals, and villagers playing themselves. It was the kind of situation to stimulate the director to use the script as a mere guideline, and to shape the result at the editing table. The compassion you see goes above the techniques of its film-within-film sequences.
It clearly says that this film had a lot of professionals playing themselves - could be a very brief glimpse. This is the only option where I think Satyajit Ray could have been behind camera for a Mrinal Sen's film.
I know somebody said this option 4 was wrong but after a lot of research this seems the only possible option. If they have incorrect answer in this quiz, it needs to be reported or Just click on option 4 : Akaler Sandhaney and see what happens.
