I haven't seen the new promo but if what is shown in the promo actually happens in the show, then yes I agree with, you Indu is being portrayed as nothing but outright black-hearted gunda.
So I don't even know why I am defending him, nor why I still want him and Sanchi still to eventually get together, as in real life I would never want a guy like Indu after me!
But I'm still rather stupidly going to list the reasons why I like Indu!
1) He although he is a student leader as ps_ilu said seems to have no experience in how to behave around girls, especially educated girls. He is from a rural village and I highly doubt women get any respect there. Note that when guddu was doing his intro to Sanchi's father, he was declared as the sole son of 'Lackan Singh' no mention of his mother, yet we know she exists as he constantly swears by her. Yet his natural reaction to his inticial new-found feelings towards Sanchi was to be nice, and polite.
2) He admits himself his biggest weekness is his anger, he generally can't control it. Somehow his feelings for Sanchi have been tempering his anger. He truly can't bear it if she cries. He punishes himself for her tears. As his friends said when he locked Sanchi in the room, he should have forced her then to say yes then, but he couldn't as he hated to make her cry.
3) Indu is spoilt, he has always used force to get what he wants, and these forcefull, often violent methods have always got him the result he wants. So I can undersetand why he continues to use them. Yet when it came to winning Sanchi's love he never started off being forcefull or threatening, due to bloody ouside interference, he resorted back to his tried and tested formula.
4) Also when it comes to his public declaration of love I honestly don't think he realises how much he embrassed Sanchi by doing that. He thought he was impressing her with his honesty and courage, yet he shamed her. Alot of guys after being rejected so publicy would have wanted revenge, but Indu doesn't he still loves her. But as he wants her so freakin obessively he has decided as he said so long ago, 'that when all roads of sharafat are closed to me, I am forced to follow other paths'.
5) And for me the best thing about Indu is that, he actually doesn't want to change Sanchi. In fact he tried to change for her, he said he knows he is turning into a better person in her company and he actually seemed to like being that person. Also he wants to bring himself to her level, rather than drag her down to his. He wants to educate himself further for her, to gain her respect. Plus he even said if they marry, he will not only allow her to continue her studies , but will in fact allow her to pursue a career. And I haven't seen anything to contradict him being truthful there.
6) Finally when it comes to his treatment of Mehak, he is wrong no doubt. Yet again he first asked mehak politly to help him, then he actually begged her and touched her feet. But what does mehak do. Rather than in turn polity refuse him ,or explain that she has no say whatsoever in Sanchi's love life, she insults him and his love! So again what does Indu do when this new method of being nice again blows up in in face? Resorts back to his violent and direct force method, that has never failed him of course.
