Following a flop acting career, actress Sampada Vaze has now deviced a new way of garnering publicity — by involving herself in social work. Sampada, in an attempt to show that she is not just a glam doll, has got a membership with SPCA (Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and has started bringing puppies and kittens home much to her parents agony. And if that wasn't enough, she has set her sights on creating AIDS awareness. "AIDS has become quite an issue in India now. And its time we take a stand and make people aware of this deadly disease that's eating the country. I hope to make a difference in every small way I can," says the actress justifying her concern for the society. Is that the reason why she is doing so much of charity work ensuring that she is not erased from public memory? Also this is one hell of an easy way to garner publiciy for herself. |
