Gourav Chanana has no clue why rumours about him surface all the time. "People can't say I'm a bad looker. They can't say I'm a bad actor. So they cook up stories about me," he says with exasperation. The latest in line of many such rumours, was that he was thrown out of
Risshton Ki Dor
because he could not get along with co-star Sampada Vaze. In fact, Sampada has even been quite vocal about this. So what does the man in the line of fire have to say about this? "Sampada is a sweet girl and and she's entitled to her opinion. All I can say is that I had no problems with anyone and that includes her too," he says.
There were also rumours that Anuj Saxena was behind his ouster. "Tomorrow I'll hear that Raza Murad had a problem, then I'll hear that Monaz had a problem with me and then I'll learn that the spot boys wanted me out. It's ridiculous!" he laughs away these reports. So what's the real story? "The storyline of the serial was changing and the channel informed me about it. My character Rahul Raichand had a much meatier role earlier, but things changed, so I decided to opt out," he explains.
Although Gourav doesn't have any shows on air at the moment, he's been spending time getting to know himself better. "I've been travelling, watching films and painting," he says. And what about acting? "The roles I'm being offered aren't very exciting. As soon as I get an interesting offer, I will take it up. I'm not going anywhere," he says with a confident smile.
