No yaar, its not the same type. Only thing common is the age difference but there it is 18 yrs a bit too much.
Initially I felt that the leads were not looking good. But the ML is amazing... has excellent screen presence. The FL is good too... story is very crisp. They kind of grow on you. So far so good.
Given that the slot is 10 30 pm I do not think this is a of any competition to RLHN. And caters very less to the trp aunties.

I saw the show, it is not at all similar to RLHN but more similar to Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi(&TV show) which ended two moths ago I guess. Ironically, Rohit was selected as anti-hero part of EVAB but he didn't joined the cast(the reason was not clarified but I think he looks more younger than the role) and someone else roped to that show. Good for Rohit because after the role entered the show it went to off air. 😆

It had a few elements common with Naa bole tum (small town setting, an uncouth family member in FL's family, a child who is already in the same party as the ML, but Nanhi and her superman was a different league) in . But I will not yet compare the two. In spite of what happened to that serial much later, it was a neat take on a different relationship and the leads were exceptional.

Yeh Moh Moh Ke Dhagae started with age gap relation in unusual circumstance after long time. After that PPK also launched with same but reverse situation about age. But they focused only in age gap. starplus also launched a show where the lead had around 20 years gap, now ZEE tv show where the gap is 18 years. All the shows are completely different but when a flow starts many channels copy the theme. Like after Naagin all channels started to show supernatural shows. I think other channels will also going to start shows about Age Gap Issue 😕

New age shows...

The new flavor is all about love stories between older woman and younger man. But 18 years is indeed huge... tough even for a forbidden love story junkie like me.

But this show is good, mainly because of the treatment, story, writers, director and the right amount of drama. No idea on what it might become in the future. But as things stand, this for me is tops as on date!

On another note... older man and younger woman has been not been frowned upon by society. Even today that is not questioned at all. But any relationship between an older woman and younger man would elicit a lot of curiosity. Probably why SP show and MMD may not classify for comparison here and they also failed for the same reason.

It does not generate curiosity. Been there done that, or seen that. This one is unique and sometimes a woman's fantasy 😆😆 what do you know 😃

Poppinss,

I guess the age factor makes it interesting but different. 18 years in indeed a huge gap. Even the terminology used for such relationship shows we favour older men but look down upon older women in such relationship.

Older men in relationship with younger women are called Sugar Daddy while older women are called, Cougar (it is a predatory term),

But the relationship is more complicated because it is not just about age gap. Which is a prime thing in RLHN. The social taboo on widow remarriage is still prevalent. And in small town, it is even worse.

That is why I did remember one of my favourite Naa Bole Tum, Naa maine kuch Kaha. (It was great until the monster of TRP started it's attack)

People like to think love conquers everything but in real life, compatibility matters and age is one of the least significant factors in that game.
